V8ian Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 4 cars I regret selling, 1st, my Little Red Rooster, Genuine SuperSpeed 1650 Anglia, Sold it 2 days later it was wrapped around a Telegraph pole, Another one was a Big Sploshy Mk3 Zephyr Zodiac Farnham Abbot Estate, and another was My Mk1 ZephyrZodiac, 289, 4speed, Mint Shell I bought From Andy Harris, that was sold and broken up for no other reason that the sum of the parts were worth more than the car, including the reg, Lastly a really good 63 Mk1 Cortina 2 door, Harris built Pre X flow, 5.5 & 6" steels, sold it and last I heard it was laid up in a garden, floor out ready to be Pro Streeted, and as far as I am aware is still there.
Muttley MK2 Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Only real regretted sale was 1976 jps mk2 capri fitted with 351 cleveland and 4 speed manual. thelastbandit Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 1980: 1970 Mk1 Escort, Bubble Arched, SUPERCHARGED 1760cc £300 1990: 1958 Ford Pop, SUPERCHARGED V6, Chopped, Centerlines £2500 1981: 1965 Mk1 Cortina, V6, Chopped, Unfinished Project £150 1982: 1961 Consul Capri 1500GT, £1500 1979: 1958 VW Beetle MINT £400 (yeah I know it's not a Ford but even so) and the creme de la creme of them all: 1982. I was 24 hours to late to buy a Mk2 Consul with one owner (deceased) and 1300 (yes hundred not thousand) miles on the clock from new, with original paper mats in back for .... £800 in 1982. It had sat in the garage since the owner died in 1962 as the widow didn't want to sell it because it was a reminder of her deceased hubby. I heard about it, went to see it and it had been bought by a "friend" the day before, so all I got was the story you read above.
RS264 Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 mmm I should have bought an XA GT Falcon years ago just after I bought my RS2. It needed a tidy up and maybe a paint job, but for A$1500 I said no! Now they are worth in excess of A$60,000! Should have kept the 3 near mint Mk1 body shells, but I had no where to store them when I moved. They went to the scrapper......
davreeve Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Back in 1993 a guy at work was selling his mk2 2dr for 25 pounds as it had failed its mot on a brake pipe and a cracked screen!I was into cortinas at the time and turned it down .God i wish i had atime machine!!!
