Rallyman72 Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 opps sorry peeps i didnt realise i said that last night No offence taken by me - I'm one of the AVO folk that they (some of the AVO members) call a "Trailer Queen" but a full rally prep Mexico is tiring over any great distance as well as rather thirsty! Having said that the car was used as a daily 100 mile per day commuter for about 6 or 8 weeks early last year without any issues. Full spec (prior to stripping to a rolling shell over Christmas) was Tuned 1600 +20thou 711M, 2 x 40's, 244 cam, 2 1/4 exhaust, TranX SC Rocket box, LSD, Vents, World Cup Bilsteins, Quick Rack, Cage, full harness etc, etc. Definitely not a bufty car I hope you will agree. Not as radical as some but not standard by a long way and to be developed further and hopefully seen on the stages some time later in the year.

Guest MK1gaz Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 If you can't fit much in a mk1 escort boot do they hire out deck chairs and mirrors at the A.V.O. meets these days then ? Maybe there's a gay geezer in trunks walking in between the cars selling doughnuts + melon slices as well !!!!!!!!!
Guest MK1gaz Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 I saw my old Mk1 RS2000 in a concours event a few years back . I told the owner that i had it sideways into a ditch when i was 21 and he wasn't impressed !!!!!!!

Toby Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Are you two on the right forum!?! WTF!! Get a room. And Gaz I quite like the girls in the white bikinis but GM how did you remember?? I feel sick I thought we were fellow petrol heads.
Guest MK1gaz Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 We are all petrolheads on here mate . That's why we don't like sporting Escort models trailered to car shows and mirrors stuck under them like some ornament . Sure there should be a few of each model like that kept in a museum but now there's flipping rows and rows of the poxy things at RS and A.V.O days , waste of a good motor i reckon . Plus who the hell wants a standard car anyway ? You can't beat the sound of twin webers on full throttle and the feeling of a car sliding sideways when you prod the throttle , fare play to the bufties but they're sick in the head !!!!!!!!
