Whats going on with the 0-100 time though? 16 seconds?

The artical does say it was wet, and we all know how these turbos deliver thier power :mrgreen: It probably launched with 2 HP spooled up, WOOOOSHED up to 5 MILLION HP, span the wheels for 16 of the 16.5 seconds, and there you have it. Of course what he should have done is popped a side-valve in it!!

Actually it was the 1st outing for the car ,it was running no boost, and mike

was driving very conservatively that day as it was an unknown motor.

Pisses me off a bit though people picking at a 15 year old article,

how fast were there motors running back then?

Infact in all the times I have run my car at brunters for magazine

articles,it only showed its true potential once and that was the first one

for fast car when I ran 0-60 in 4.91 on yoko 048's,and that was in 1991!

But as per usual these threads turn into the usual shit throwing posts

by the usual suspects

Oy oy!! It wasn't shit throwing it was purely an observation (the WOOOSH bit was for Gaz - which no doubt he loved).

Agree if you pick any old articles, performance has improved, possibly more for the turbo boys than the N/A boys as mapping, turbine blades, bearings, tyres etc etc have improved, the best N/A cars are hard to beat as there aren't so many variables.

Lovely as Mikes car is (there I've said it  ) it still ran a good 0-60 and a "relatively" slow 0-100 :? Probably, as you say, because he wasn't running much boost. What was the 0-100 of a standard Cossy in it's day?

PS 4.91 to 60 on yoko's 048's in 1991 is impressive - did they make them back then??

Kev - '99? F*** off, you're older than that!:mrgreen: I was there before that! If you do see him and you're not in your Escort don't try to approach him he's quite fiery!
