Been looking round a few of the insurance companies with a view to finding somewhere decently priced for when I pass my test and get an osf on the road and bloody hell  £1400 is the absolute cheapest I've managed to get from liverpool victoria for a 1300 mk2 escort with no mods fully comp and with my dad as a named driver. Is everywhere this bad?

Well, i have no sympathy for any of you.

You might wish you did my job, but trust me, try getting a quote and when they ask your profession say "journalist".

I don't get quotes, i get "No's"

Trust me, honesty is not the best policy on that one, you drive on the same roads and are taking the same risks as the rest of us.

Our brokers call us vehicle deliverers, we supply action vehicles but as soon as any mention of the film business was mentioned, most ran screaming!

to be fair mate... id say that was spot on

when i was 18 my 1.3 mk1 capri totally stock was £1290 on third party fire and theft

so if youve got that fully comp id say that was cheap actually....

you just have to bite the bullet.... your second year will still be above £900 untill your 21 then you can get classic insurance

im building the capri now hightly modified and my insurace will be double that when its done... untill im 21 and get classic... but i want to drive it... so ill pay it :(
