Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 As title says, Who has been pulled over by the law in their OSF & what was it for??? I remember I got pulled over for doing 75Mph in a 30 zone in my old Capri 2.0S (It took them a while to catch me) . Yes, I was behaving like a hooligan and I was wearing no seatbelt & had a headlamp out. After alot of shouting by the coppers, I was let off with a flea in my ear. Someone must of been watching over me that day!!!!! Also, on my way to the last Boxhill meet, a copper on a Police Bike stopped next to me at a set of traffic lights, for which was really trying to stop for (Yes an Anglia on drums all round doesn't stop very well) At first, he seemed to wonder why we were wearing no seatbelts, but must of realised it didn't have any. He asked "Is that original or restored?" I said "erm, it is very much original" Hence why I just about stopped for the lights! So come on, have you got some stories to tell???????
LUKE261 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 not been pulled in my osf but plenty of times in my boy racer nova and corsa days got section 59 for doin a wheelspin on one occasion in my 1.3sr nova, we had just put my new engine in it the night before had a piper 300 cam, vernier, solid lifters a lot of headwork and a lightened flywheel, any way had a little police chase, copper went mental at me said if all my lights work i can go scott free so all my lights worked bar my reversing light, didnt put sender in gearbox from the night before, and didnt want 2 lift my bonnet as the car was insured as a standard sr, didnt bother arguing with the copper coz u aint got 2 av a reverzsing light 4 mot coz he would just go over my car with a fine toothcomb plus my horn didnt work either at the time!!! SO £30 FINE A PRODUCER AND A SECTION 59, a section 59 means if you or the car do something wrong within 12 months the car gets impounded and you have 2 pay a fine 2 get it back!! and storage until you pay the fine!! also had bout 3 seatbelt fines and regually got stopped and given producers 2 produce my documents at the station!! I SAID 2 THE BLOKE IN THE STATION I AINT GOT 2 SHOW U THEM AGAIN HAVE I U STILL GOT THE INFORMATION FROM LAST WEEK!!!!
Gibson Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Four Times in the Capri.... 3 times where late night when they were bored and had nothing better to do than kick my tyres and 1 time i was doing 56 in a thirty zone and got six points.... but it was about half ten on a sunday night there wasnt any one around... the road was straight and didnt have any house's near it... or shops. or pubs. and it was dry and quite warm.... so yea oh well....
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Once in my Anglia saloon (standard) in about 1991. He was following me from some lights in a 30 zone. He was probably doing about 25 so over the next few miles there was a big gap between us. The road changed to a 40 and the car in front was still doing 30, so I overtook and didn't go over 40. The copper must have put his foot down and pulled me pretty quickly. He said 'I saw you flying past cars. What speed were you doing? I had to do 50 to catch up with you'. I thought, well I can't have been doing over 50 otherwise you wouldn't have caught up with me, so I said I wasn't speeding. Then came the lecture 'I used to work for Ford. It looks very nice but if you hit something it'll just disintegrate'. So he looked round it, I nodded and said 'yes' in all the right places, and he let me go. When I told a mate I'd been pulled for speeding in my unmodified anglia, he said 'Did you ask for it in writing?'
Guest Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 I got stopped in my RS one night because it was too loud He had quite a smirk on his face when he realized I was a girl Nether the less I got sent on my way pretty sharpish.
4parajon Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 The last time I was stopped by the rozzers was in the late 80's on the way back from a nightclub when I had a 3.0 "S", I was'nt doing anything wrong....mainly coz I knew he was behind me, after about 5min he flashes me to pull over so we stop. I gets out and all he wanted to talk about was Capri's!!!! He was actually in the last 2.8injection that Stockport plod had at the time and he was gutted that they were fazing them out coz he loved them!!! Top Fella
Daveyboy20 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 When i had my capri on the road i was stopped all the time, i literally dont remember how many as i completely lost count! Stopped for speed ing now and again but let off every time theres a roundabout just up the road fromn my house and i remember i was heading home at around 2am bout to turn into my road but i couldnt help going straight past and tearing around the roundabout first. He floowed me home and i explained that i had fitted new track control arms that morning and though that now was a good time to test em! He made me admit that no time is a good time really and then left!! Another was for powersliding a roundabout and i explained that it was the new foot wide tyres in the wet being a handfull and he just warned me to be careful on the corners and let me go! one Christmas Eve i was barreling down the main road at stupid oclock in the morning, having just fitted my new carb earlier in the day, i really hooned 2nd gear right to top revs and then in the distance i saw a shiny copper in the middle of the road. They had been in the process of dealing with some yobs and had them all collared, he said that they all stopped still to see what it was that was screaming towards them from down the road, said " you could be in a bit of trouble now son" looked at my passenger seat and it had a bag full of presents my girlfriend had given me - he just said "go on get out of here". Must have been the christmas spirit! One time me and my mate drove to his uni in huddersfield and we tried a top speed run in the fast lane, when BANG, my rear fibreglass arch ripped off and twatted the sidfe of the car, i pulled into the hardshoulder toi fix it back on but it had none so drive the rest of the way wioth 6 inches of tyre exposed! Got pulled for that when we got there he said he'd never seen arches held on with gaffer tape before!! I was pulled loads for the noise but i never got in trouble apart from one time when i had no MOT and was trying to get the suspension part from my mate to fix it and send it in later that day, stupidly i parked on zigzags for a minute and got pulled over for it, he let me off and i got the mot in the time before the 7 day producer but the days didnt match and i ended up in court ! it was terrifying but they let me off it. Been pretty lucky touch wood! As you can see i've been pulled over so many times, even the police still know me, i was pissed the other night and ragged my BMX back to mine from my girlfriends and there was a cop car patroling round our street he got out and asked why i was going into the garden (of my house!!) and i said "i live here" he looked over my shoulder saw the capri on the drive and said "oh its the black Capri guy!" It makes me laugh really
Mr.Sumo Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 when i had my one and only RS2000 i got pulled by the plod 7 times in 2 nights on the trot . all 7 producers in hand ( at 18 years old me was ) , me and the old man proceeded to go in the cop shop 1 producer at a time ......after the 4th one mr plod was starting to get the hump ( all that paperwork ) , and asked if i would be coming back again.....my old Dad said , " yes 3 more times " , cop said " can we do them all together then ? " , my old man says " no , you stopped him 7 times , you can do 7 lots of paperwork...." ....never got stopped again
Twinkle Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 got stopped in the twink for doin some sideways action on a round about. the copper came up said for fooks sake thought it was you, said it looked good and was nice to see someone using a car how it was intended sent me to alldays for the biccys and made me a cup of tea back at the station

Cookie Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 I've only been pulled once in last 3 years or so, in one of my short tax and test £50 ebay bargains, and that was only cos i was driving it on my traders policy so it was'nt on the bolloxy insurance database malarky, But back in the days of boy racer malarky gt this and turbo that etc fookin ell they never left us alone, if between me and a few of my mates we only managed to get 1 producer a night then we were doing well, a usual trip for a perve around cardiff could sometimes result in 3 producers, local police, cardiff police and if unlucky traffic Apple Pies (i mean cops ) aswell, used to piss me right off! easy targets kids with cars, had some used to try and throw there weight around by getting a bit physical with some of the other boys aswell, used to be 2 especially who thought they run the towns roads and fancied themselves, no wonder most people hate them, funnily enough i never had that, uniform or not they wanna play tough guys with me then i was more than willing to play Fair enough driving like loons was illegal but its just part of the growing up cycle, i think of the consequences of my actions now and that usually means i drive very sensibly. but there is no need for there heavy handed approach for doing a bit of sideways here and there i don't think, sure beats raping, murder and robbing houses as a pastime IMHO anyway.
Ratters Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 El Sumo..... That's ace Not been pulled for years & years. Can't remember being pulled in the Mk1 I got now [though probably have] & that's about 10 years. Before that though when in the late teens it was a regular occurance. Weekly I'd say on average
escort new boy Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 my dad told me about him getting pulled in his old xpack pinto power 82mph in second gear but they did'nt clock the speed but they told him to slow down
Wessie Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 got pulled with the anglia and it was on the trailer - exhaust had fallen off but was still attached around the axle and was draggin along the ground but the copper liked the 'harry potter' car !
antz Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 never been pulled because im a good boy aka i just dont get caught
Pipster007 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Only ever got stopped once in the Capri. They said it was registered as a Sierra
Fiesta Steve Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Probably been stopped by the filth around 100 times now. Got a total of 18 points on my liecence for my troubles, and a six month ban. This picture was taken by the filth in June 1998 for use as evidence against me in court. At the time I thought it was such a cool picture that I stole it from the court room. I had a lot of documents with me that day and decided to slip it in amongst them and hope they wouldn't notice. Thats me in the middle aged 18, thats my m8 JB on the left (a recent member on here) ; I got stopped once and the cop said 'Oh, its you !! I ain't gunna bother given you a producer 'cos you never do them, and I don't wanna do the paper work. Now piss off!' I remember being in Dave's (Fezza's) Mk2 Fiesta getting stopped 3 times in one day! On the last occasion Dave was absolutly fuming and the cop approched the car and said 'its alright m8, we just radio'd through your reg. and they've told us you've been had twice today already'.
Fiesta Steve Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 I'm am a good person really. Part of growing up in Ashford, you just have got to make use of the race track, I mean the ring road.
Wessie Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 you just have got to make use of the race track, I mean the ring road. YKT ur fiesta looked awesome
bortaf Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 I've only been pulled once in last 3 years or so, in one of my short tax and test £50 ebay bargains, and that was only cos i was driving it on my traders policy so it was'nt on the bolloxy insurance database malarky, quote] tell me about it got one of mine impounded last week in Stoke Newington cos the copper hadn't heard of a traders policy and refused to accept the certificate that was shown him got it back free of any impound costs but was a pain in the @ss that bloody data base is cr@p Appart from that little exercise in pointless trips to Dockland to get me car back, been pulled LOADS of times in a cortina record was 5 breathalisers and 1 producer in one 6 hour shift i was minicabbing at the time over the christmas weekend Allways get butterflys even though i'm totaly leagal
john_3.0s Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 got tugged and breathalised so many times in my old mk2 escy when i worked in a night club i started asking to collect the pipes they have to use each time, after a year or so i started showing them the pile of pipes in my glove box and they didnt bother anymore! got pulled in my mondeo on the A22 last week, was doing well over a ton in a 60 section, he was in a unmarked skoda superb and when he caught up with me gave me a ticket for doing 80 in the 70 dual carridge way section, i wasnt going to complain but still anoying as it was late at night, dry, quiet and not in any built up area on a road i drive 10 times a week, not that im bitter Oh and once more on my old c90 moped with the original 1972 tax disk on one side, to the coppers dismay i had a current disk on the other side - just kept the old one on ther for a laugh. he just sent me on my way...
john_3.0s Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 oh and once in my capri in london when i came off the lights a bit lively to notice a copper in a side street, he tugged me ad asked me to remove my tax disk as when they radioed it through it said it wasnt taxed. Turned out the disk was a photoshop job on the car when i bought it! luckily has the log book so he could see i was a new keeper, he made me rip it up there and then and sent me on my way promising to get it taxed asap.
