richie_stix Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 on the bloody wrong side of the road! he hit the rear quarter and pulled half the bumper off despite my car being parked with the rear facing oncoming traffic! here is the basic gist of it... and the fooked bumper!... another shot... and finally a little landscape pic!... anyone able to give me a rough idea of how much that will set me back to fix? also, if anyone see's a white van with a number plate MX55 VHL (luckily someone witnessed it and took some details) then give it a bloody good kickin, maybe a brick through a window? how can i go about claiming from this cock gobbling bellend's insurance cos i'll be fooked if i'm going to pay! rant over now!
Conor Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 You've got the registration and a witness. All you need to do is contact your insurers, giving them the details and let them sort it. You DID pay the extra for the legal expenses cover didn't you? That should push out OK but you'll need a new rear bumper. £300 tops I'd have said as long as they can colourmatch the paint OK. Get it done sooner than later otherwise you'll get rot setting in.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted March 12, 2008 Admin Report Posted March 12, 2008 You should deffo be able to claim on insurance. Did you get the witnesses details too? I did this in St Ives a few years ago ... I saw a stupid doris hit someone's car in a car park, get out and have a look, and then drive off so I took her number and left my details on the windscreen of the car that was hit. The doris who was the victim gave my details to her insurance company and they contacted me to give a statement and the claim went through successfully because the victim contacted me a few months later to say thankyou As for white van man
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 Without giving out to much info... did that happen at your SE London location? If so, i'm just up the road and will have a look out for the van
john_3.0s Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 phone the old bill too mate, they wont do jack all but you will get an crime number that you can refence on the insurance claim to add some more credability to it
5hane Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 my dads m8 had somthing like this in his 2.8i tiny dent but was an 'uneconomical repair' so e gave him like £1200 then he bought it back for £300 and got the car respraed hope your as lucky
flyingbanana Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 just had a look its insured and according to the data its not a van Vehicle Make/Model: CITROEN C2 SX
FredTransit Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 my dads m8 had somthing like this in his 2.8i tiny dent but was an 'uneconomical repair' so e gave him like £1200 then he bought it back for £300 and got the car respraed hope your as lucky I wouldn't recommend this, you do not want your car written off, even just for financial reasons. You current insurer might want all kinds of things before re insuring it, such as an engineer's report, even if it's only panel damage. It's a bit of a worry what Mr D just said about the MID.....
richie_stix Posted March 12, 2008 Author Report Posted March 12, 2008 just had a look its insured and according to the data its not a van Vehicle Make/Model: CITROEN C2 SX yeah my bad.. it was actualy MX55 VHL sorry! dont go King up that citroen now!
ASBO CAPRI Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 It looks bad, but it probably wouldn't be much bother to sort out. You could probably get much of that dent out with a wack from a soft mallet. You wanna get your capper down to the bodyshop my cappers at and it be sorted in no time. Someone done a hit and run on my capper once. I come home from work and noticed the rear bumper was hanging off and it had a small crease on the rear panel. There was bits of someones brake light all over the floor so some idiot had obviously backed into it.
lotusless Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 sorry to here that mate but at least you got a witness
escortmad79 Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 MX55VHL = 2005 MAN L2000 Similar to this

X-pack-Glyn Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 about time you pulled that nasty bumper off anyway and while your at it get rid of those tinted lights. probably just someone with better taste doing you a favour Hmmmm, how to make friends and influence people Anyway, back to the topic, shes not so bad man, some filler and paint... I heard a huge bang on xmas day 1990, followed by screeching tyres and a car tearing off, when i looked out the window my superspurt was about 5 feet from where i parked it and a considerably different shape, never did find out who it was
sab6024 Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 That's not good I had someone drive up the back of my Capri in 2004 and the guy's insurance paid out for the repair Good luck with the claim, at least you got a witness

richie_stix Posted March 13, 2008 Author Report Posted March 13, 2008 MX55VHL = 2005 MAN L2000 Similar to this cheers mate, nice one... can add that to the report! i hope since it's a large van it will belong to a company who would be more likely to pay out i think?
escortmad79 Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 That's a refridgerated unit, it might not look exactly like that one with the rear box
