RFChris Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 My mother in law just moaned at Laura because her Saab was parked at a funny angle on the street. This annoyed me greatly because Laura had two screaming kids in the car at the time, so neatness of parking wasn't a priority. Annoyed, I go out and move the Saab, and through a combination of A)trying to keep it nipped up tight to the kerb and being generally angry, I managed to back it into the Capri. Oh, and the Saab has a tow-bar. Still, it's not like black MK2 Capri 'S' bumpers are rare or anything. I'm off to shoot myself.....
Admin Vista Posted July 24, 2008 Admin Report Posted July 24, 2008 Sorry to hear that Chris, how bad is the damage? I'm off to shoot myself..... May I suggest shooting the mother in law instead? I suspect it'll bring much needed relief to your suffering and certainly won't be quite as painful for you.

FlashCadillac Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 come on then.... lets see how bad it is
capriaddict Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 "But its only a capri not like its worth anything is it?" The above statment is a qoute from someone father after his son had rear ended my 2.0S Mk2 a few years ago Front or back mate?? By the way they were brand new ford ones that were fitted in 2002 (not that the info will make you feel any better) I'll pop up and shoot the M.I.L. if ya want

over_head_cam Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 Bad news Chris Next time tell the MIL to fook off
RFChris Posted July 24, 2008 Author Report Posted July 24, 2008 Well, I've calmed down now and properly assesed the damage. Good news it would seem. The mounts at the back have snapped, so the bumer is kinda just hanging on. The number plate snapped, and the brakets bent but that's neither here nor there. There is also a small ding on the lower edge where the tow-bar caught it. From 20 feet you'd never know. Still, I'm going to take it off tomorrow and see how bad the brackets are. Chris
antz Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 that sucks chris. i thought i had a bad night. good luck sorting it
mk1super Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 Mate we all do things like that, i got annoyed trying to take my escort out at a dodgy angle out of the garage ( Small gap drive way full of familys bloody cars ) and knocked off passenger door mirror i moved forward trying to correct angle and knocked off driver door mirror so i shunt forward and reverse back and knock over my cousins scooter thankfully no damage to escort In time mate when you calm down you will see the amusing side of it, my cousin didnt though
marky4 Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 sorry to hear that chris next time back into the outlaw
FlashCadillac Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 iv done ir myself.... i escort into my step dads 1964 Fairlane ..... Fairlane bumper put a nice gouge in the wing... fairlane fine
garyv6100e Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 I done something similar a year ago , i had a mk1 1300E (shagged) on the front garden. when i took delivery of a courtesy car i thought it would be a good idea to teach my daughter how the car controls worked , she proceeded to shove it in reverse smash's into the mk1 sending it through the fence (concrete post's) mk1 was then totally shagged and i was somewhat unhappy to say the least but at least this ended up with me getting my 100E so some good came of it in the end
4parajon Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Would think the brackets are the same as a mk3 Chris, if they are there fairly easy to pick up in good condition
DAZZA Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Mk 2's look better without bumpers anyway........... ............... ok maybe not, im just trying to make you feel better Chris.
danny69 Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Would think the brackets are the same as a mk3 Chris, if they are there fairly easy to pick up in good condition They are different but they are probably easy enough to replicate. They are quite substantial so I am surprised they have broken. Atleast that front spoiler is okay, that would be harder to replace.
jamie k Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 note to all no such things as in laws theyr all out laws
