V8ian Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 just for abit of fun, what does everyone think is the best engine ford have ever made? it can be anything from a pre-crossflow to a zetec but no cossys or lotus's only ford produced engines I think nearly everybody has failed to note, FORD PRODUCED ENGINES< NO LOTUS OR COSSIES
garyv6100e Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 Got to be a Xflow so easy to tune and work on , and i am not bias as i am running an essex at the mo in the E

mk1super Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 X flow is a top engine revs easy and punts you out of a corner nicely Just a pity they didnt make one that was a 2.0 i'd be ever so happy then Like the Pinto and Cossie too ( Turbo or N/a ) and do love a Bd engine
NginEEr Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 im a pinto man myself but even tho the CVH was in plastics it is a very good engine can get alot more out a cvh than a xflow

TwoLitrePinto Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 oh yeah on the subject of CVH's i know its not designed to work together but they are both ford!! 2.1 Zetec Block, 1.6 RS turbo CVH Head = ANIMAL ZVH
TwoLitrePinto Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 sorry forgot that cosworth made it not ford still sticking with Pinto or ZVH
shaun1.6ghia Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 i like x-flow for low end revs and a nice strong engine that has done the job for years.
Mr Sam Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 im stuck between x'flow and pinto the CVH has to be the wrost ford engine if not the worst engine in egsistance IMO then again mines a 1.4 EFi and has a mind of its own
TwoLitrePinto Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 whts wrong with a cvh? easy to work on reliable... hcs 1.0, 1.1, 1.3 and enduras are the worst ford engines, theyre disposable
Copey Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 zvh? thats a new one zetec bottom end cvh head
TwoLitrePinto Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 2.1 zetec bottom end, CVH TURBO head
