JAY PS Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Is it worth me fighting this how can you go thru a red light at 0mph It was Monday and the roads were clear ,im sure the camera is wrong any ideas
Fishtailparka Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 How does the fact that the roads were clear make it any more acceptable to go through a red light at 0mph on a Monday ?
vibrating_Cake Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Is it worth me fighting this how can you go thru a red light at 0mph It was Monday and the roads were clear ,im sure the camera ios wrong any ideas read it more clearly, when i got my speeding ticket it said on it spacifically (speed in mph not applicable for red light offences) or something, they dont calculate speed, you went thru a red light, tough, you were in the wrong just pay up and get on with it
Rick Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 they dont have them on ped crossings do they. i always go over if theres no1 there im not waiting like aplonker at a crossing with no1 around for 500ft
Copey Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 its only lights that have the big yellow boxes next to them that can get you rick at silly hours in the mornin (2-4) i always slow to an almost halt at red lights and if nouts about i will crawl through as for JAY PS, its like vibratin cake said, they dont calculate speed, you went through, got caught, so pay up
mk1super Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Well i must be old an sad i see red light i stop even if roads are empty.
antz Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Well i must be old an sad i see red light i stop even if roads are empty. i do. its the law. I have only ever ran one red light and it was 11pm on a country road and some idiot had dug up 3 foot of road (literally!) and put traffic lights there to go round it. it was a 1/4 mile straight and there was nothing coming, nothign behind me and i was sat there like a lemon for 3 minutes waiting for them to change....nothing came or went in those 3 minutes. get fed up in the end and drove round it....but thats the only time ive ever done it
SmokeEm Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Well i must be old an sad i see red light i stop even if roads are empty. Me too mate but in Jay's defence, I don't think he did it on purpose although you could read his post as if he did. With the Sun so low in the sky at this time of year, it's easier to do than you'd think.
Fiesta Steve Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 You could say you thought the sun was an amber light ??
bomber1 Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 how far did you go through or did u just crawl over the line as you stoped?
JAY PS Posted January 9, 2009 Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 What i was saying was i couldnt understand how i could go thru a light at 0 mph Now i understand they dont list the speed I dont remember jumping that set of lights ,im sure they were on yellow if anything Well pissed off because ive had a clean licence since 1990 Stupid thing was i never go this way to work only that the roads were gritted and the other way was busier ! Is it three points and £60 ,anyone know
Ken B Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Yep 3 points and £60. And dont forget to tell the insurance company to. Does add a slight charge on too. I got caught 2 years ago. The other thing to remember is not to move out of the way for emergency vehicles on lights with cameras too I know someone who got done that way. Tried to fight it but lost, as amby sevice wouldn't/couldn't confirm they went that way.
RS2kSX Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 i got off mine by ignoring the first letter & replying to 2nd letter after the two week rule didnt admit offence as i can't remember that far back and case got dropped
Twinkle Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 only been through 5 sets of red lights and set of 4 speed cameras tonight so far
mk1super Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 With the Sun so low in the sky at this time of year, it's easier to do than you'd think. Never a problem for me mate, but then have you seen the weather in Scotland? Sun whats that? a newspaper right
