Lardy Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 fella on the forum of the capri club in surrey which i belong to put his capri 2.8i in and guess what the offer was....... £60
Admin Vista Posted July 10, 2009 Admin Report Posted July 10, 2009 They're in the business to make money not give it away but £60? I don't imagine they keep in touch with values of classics though.
mk2estate Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 i asked for a price on my '04 leon cupra r a couple of years ago, they offered £1890 i ended up selling it for £4000, only £2100 diffference!
shakey n his fezz Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 yea but they only offer the low end of valueation and to be honest cars on here are only worth the sort of money they are beacause lots of people want the but if you havent got agreed valueation with your insureance your get peanut for your motor if you crash it
FredTransit Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 This was teid out on Autoshite.com, most people who put in their classics got £50 as an offer. I put the volvo 240 GTE in, and got £50. Cheeky gits! I can't imagine anybody takes them up of offer like this, but I bet they have to put the offers out just to keep the advertising standards people happy.
Admin Vista Posted July 10, 2009 Admin Report Posted July 10, 2009 I put the volvo 240 GTE in, and got £50. Cheeky gits! Sounds fair to me
FredTransit Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 Bugger off you. Worth the £205 I paid for it....
Admin Vista Posted July 10, 2009 Admin Report Posted July 10, 2009 Bugger off you. Worth the £20.50 I paid for it.... So you made a profit then? Bonus
antz Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 I put the volvo 240 GTE in, and got £50. Cheeky gits! Sounds fair to me depends on condition. a rough but ready 240 GLT is worth anywhere between £200-700 and in top A1 minty minty condition up to around £1000-1500 Slightly lower values for the GL, SE and Torslanda models
bortaf Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 I'll give him £80 and he can keep the cappa if he shootsthe Bstd that wrote that fooking anoying song for the advert
Paul F Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 It's such a stupid statement, "we buy any car". I myself would buy any car in the world...at the right price! Ferrari 250 GTO for £100? I would. I don't see why anyone would use the service, as it takes very little effort to stick your car in autotrader or on the 'bay, plus you're likely to get much more for it this way.
FredTransit Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 .......and I wouldn't have thought anybody would cash in a 1968 moggy for scrappage, but they did. And a 1950s Riley. And a 1999 mint lexus. All got to be worth more than the 2 grand.....

Admin Vista Posted July 10, 2009 Admin Report Posted July 10, 2009 In Philadelphia........it's worth 50 bucks love that film...the salmon I quote a film in which Jamie Lee Curtis (a young JLC mind) displays an awesome set of norks...............................and you think of cooked fish?
Admin Vista Posted July 11, 2009 Admin Report Posted July 11, 2009 No one uses the word norks enough anymore. I do
Fiesta Steve Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 to be honest cars on here are only worth the sort of money they are beacause lots of people want the but if you havent got agreed valueation with your insureance your get peanut for your motor if you crash it Not quite true. Someone hit my Fiesta recently and as me and the insurance company could not agree on the value of my car they sent an expert out who valued my rusty Fiesta at £1550, I only valued it at £1500 lol !! They started off with an offer of £200 to write my car off !
shakey n his fezz Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 exactly so all our cars arent worth as much as our shoes really in the eyes of the insureance companys
shakey n his fezz Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 they wont buy my car beacause its older than 1985
FredTransit Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 More fool them then, maybe they can't afford it...
