Posse Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Last night when the fireworks started my dog started breathing fast then about 30 Min's later i found him in the back of the kitchen cupboard shaking his cock off. Is it just my dog that scared of fireworks?
Mr.Sumo Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Mate , both of mine went divvy at the fireworks..... the little Westie went an hid upstairs under the bed and as for the other one , well.... .......12 hour shift , stuck in a lorry with me and 20kg of Victorian Bulldog
5hane Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Nope, my dogs also scared of them hink most of them are to be honest - I would be
Mrs O/H/C Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Our dog hid behind the table..and refused to go into the garden for him to do his business for virtually 24 hours (mind you ,it probably didnt help that one of our fireworks fell over and repeatedly kept hitting our house )
lee 1 Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 My dog allways did the same panting and shaking from the first one she heard was told by the vets to give her some sherry seemed to calm her down. Oddly this year she has not been bothered by them at all
sambo Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 My dog just loved watching them! Took her for a walk and she was fascinated by them! wierdo!
Badgerman85 Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 my dog generally just gets well angry, barks alot and tries to start a fight with the front door....
zetecmk2 Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 years ago we had a staff who opened the back door and attacked one of our fireworks, singeing all her whiskas off! but our husky needed tranquelisers to calm the hyper-ventilating! the jack russel's are too thick to even notice them
BIGKEV Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 my dog generally just gets well angry, barks alot and tries to start a fight with the front door.... your dog scares the shit out of me with that loud loud bark!
Trevmk3 Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 my mates dog used to hide behind the tv+dvd stand whenever there was fireworks or when it thundered and would usually end up pulling some leads out
Copey Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 our dog and one of our cats hid behind the sofa, the other cat lay flat on its back infront of the fire
Mr.Sumo Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 my dog generally just gets well angry, barks alot and tries to start a fight with the front door.... i actually laughed out loud at that ! PMSL !!!!!
bortaf Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Mine couldn't give a stuff about em, the mother-in-laws dog shats and pukes at every bang (he's quite lite at the end of the fireworks week)
FredTransit Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 It's noise phobia, it causes panic or fear aggression because though they want to run, they can't detect the direction the noise is coming from so it causes panic. One of ours gets it and have had dogs before who are scared. You can de sensitise them , but it takes about a month and before you know it, it's november and too late. It's best to completely ignore them, otherwise you encourage/enforce the behaviour.
Admin Vista Posted November 7, 2009 Admin Report Posted November 7, 2009 i found him in the back of the kitchen cupboard shaking his cock off. My dog didn't need fireworks to start shaking his cock around, woe betide any guests foolish enough to leave their arm hanging over the end of the couch!!
OldskoolSue Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 my dogs fine with them probably because her snoring drowns the sound of them out
