Perhaps an obvious point that they all miss is that new cars depreciate terribly. Old Skool Fords however don't, look after it well and you'll likely get more than your money back!

Out of everyone I know including family, I own the oldest cars but I don't care. Just tell him to type in Mk1 Escort on eBay and he will see the value in them and the following they have. It is obvious that he just can't afford one, therefore he is jealous of yours.
