angliaalan Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 have not started my anglia project yet it is still in the planing stage. it's not a big budget thing so nothing fancy but isomething that can be improved on later on. i am thinking on 2.0 16v. 2.0 xe or zetec what do you think
Wessie Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 coughs *wankel rotary* - although that may be my next project
quickrack Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Jap Alloy 16VALVE dirt cheap rev like a FLMYO.
Anglia68 Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 A crossflow would be the easiest route to take because it's been done so many times before. A Pinto will need a big chunk taken out of the bulkhead to get it in. Zetecs are very popular nowadays and there are kits available to help you fit them. I don't know of any XE engined Anglias but as long as you can find a suitable sump I don't see why not. This site is very useful for more detailed questions http://105speed.com/
angliaalan Posted January 1, 2007 Author Report Posted January 1, 2007 the jap alloy sounds intersting. do you get a bellhuoseing to fit a ford box or use a jap box
quickrack Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Have only started looking into it but there are loads of RWD japs in breakers for peanuts so....

Twinkle Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 how about a proper old skool motor? http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... hp?t=32167
105Speed Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 What a load of old the round ones... I want 2000 horsepower and I've got 50p to spend.. please give it to me.... Pintos are shit in Anglias due to their size and weight and what you've got to do to get them in. XE's aint much better.. which is why every Anglia you see hasnt got one in it. If your budget is limited, stick to well trodden paths of pre-crossflow or crossflow. Zetec is just THE engine to have in an Anglia, its the modern day equivilant of the Lotus Twin Cam, BUT it isnt a cheap conversion, althought everything is available off the shelf to get one in.
spooner Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 found this on ts http://uploads.turbosport.co.uk/getremp ... m/DSCF3338
