Burns Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Took me an extra 20 mins to get to work. Not due to the roads, bit due to the empty carpark with virgin snow. It's got some donut marks now
5hane Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 weve got about 5-6 cm (looks like from my warm house anyway ) still coming down
GJUK Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Poo, fly out to Egypt tomorrow morning will Manchester airport be open? Probably but with huge delays!
RossMK2 Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 i hate school dad and mum woke me up earlyer to say that mum was going with dad and he is droping me off at school then taking mum to work. so we struggled all the way to school to find when we get there it is open but they were advising to go home so had to drive all the way home to drop me off then mum and dad have gone off to work we listened to radio and it said some school were but nothing about mine they could of put an announcement on radio but no thats to easy rant over goodbye oh yeah there bout 3 inch of snow here
Monkfish Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 I struggled to make it downstairs to the office too, it's the southener in me... so I got busy and regressed into an 8-year-old. Built a jump but bottled it and think I've popped a hip. The saddest part is the small teary-eyed child standing at the bottom of the hill, wondering if he'll get his sledge back in one piece.
DEP Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Will we see a feature on the sledge in the next issue of C/F then
GT_lenny Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Will we see a feature on the sledge in the next issue of C/F then i was gonna say that, beat me to it
Monkfish Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Yep, welcome "Project Yellow Snow Cone". It's got potential and is already slammed so I'm on to a winner I reckon.
Yeomans22 Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 we had 4 inches in birmingham over the last 24 hours, hope for more Paul.

sab6024 Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 I woke up to a couple inches outside and my boss phoned asking if I thought I could make it to work....hell yeh...I'm already planning what to order next if I stuff the Ka Drove out the village and never saw any snow until I returned a few hours later...how does that work??
JAY PS Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Im in Woking and its not stopped all day and its now settling again
Mrs O/H/C Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 marky4 ...thats a hell of a lot of snow... Cornwall only had a few cms
X-pack-Glyn Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Its total King the round ones isnt it. i traveled 60 mile to feltham, serviced two diesel fork trucks in the snow and came home 60 mile where we have it bad no problem whatsoever... meanwhile... our office staff braved the 1.5 mile drive and rolled up an hour late...then just fooked off at mid day leaving us all working out there wondering what to do. to be honest its no wonder the country is in such a state, im sick to the back teeth of bone idle office workers! its snow..get over it!!
garyv6100e Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 I had the easiest journey to work this morning from gatwick to tooting normally can take about 1 1/2 hours and i got there in 1 hour this morning as no body was on the road , i wish it would snow every day , of to mortlake tomorrow
RossMK2 Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 theres to much fear everyone goes mad thinking they need to go to grit box and grit drive even though there the only people walking up and down it then you get the ones who stress about going to the corner shop taking a full survival kit incase they get snowed in
JAY PS Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Dont get me started about the snow . I was brought up in harsh winters in south London and my dad always worked and we always went to school . This bloody nanny state ,schools all closed some before the snow came ! My staff all told me they wouldnt bother if it was bad ,told them no pay ,so they all came in ! There was some numpty on the radio earlier saying the schools had to proctect themselves against proscution if some falls over !Makes my blood boil ! A3 at Ripley tonight
omj624p Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 None of our roads have been gritted - AGAIN - but I was just out in the escort enjoying a quick spin, when we see a gritter actually spreading grit on the CYCLE PATH FFS!!! What about the damn roads??? At least the 'spin' bit was fun
JAY PS Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Just a joke i travelled all the way up A3 and thru Woking and Tolworth no sign of gritting or gritters
Chris! Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Some people need to relax, lifes to short
RS2kSX Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 a couple of lads went in to work today, we all got told to go home...... no work till it's all cleared up, no work, no pay.....
