Mr2Caps Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Im into 80's hot hatches,Golf's,Nova's ,205's,Astra's would love another Manta GTE ....oh and Mini's that's pretty much my list too i'd add pretty much any air cooled VW and some less usual ones such as renault 5 vauxhall cavalier skoda estelle or rapide fiat 126 (or a proper 500) bedford rascal not sure if it's old enough yet (it's late 90's) but i love my little yellow cinquecento sporting and i also have a strange desire to get another mini metro one of these days My parents used to run Mk1 cavaliers, I nearly bought one years ago, a coupe, missed it by 15mins! Been a long time since I've seen one. Helped a mate with a 126 years ago, we got as far as welding the doors up and cutting the roof off, was going to paint it yellow......not sure about the bedford rascal though.......I had an MG metro which had a disagreement head on with a Renault Master with a printing press in the back, consequently I have a dent in my knee which fits nicely around a Mk1 metro lower dashboard......
darylc Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Quite like BL, like the allegro and the princess (no idea why ) Maybe old fiats and alfa's, possibly even the odd citreon DS
5.0S-teve Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Here's afew i'll admit to: Mini's, mainly the Van and "woodie" versions ( been 6'3FT the normal mini is abit of a tight fit ) Rover SD1 vitesse, Lotus Sunbeam ( the original hot hatch ), Chevette, mk1 cavalier, theres bound to be more
Stu_B Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 ( been 6'3FT the normal mini is abit of a tight fit ) My brother's 6'8" & drove around in a clubman GT for a ages with no problems
5.0S-teve Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Gotta love an SD1 Vitesse twin plenum Yep, thats the one I mean , A old school friend of mine says he's got an old genuine BTCC version ( he's known for majorly over exaggerating what cars he's got, eg: a mini with a v-tec turbo engine, turned out just to have a mg metro turbo unit in it )
5.0S-teve Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 ( been 6'3FT the normal mini is abit of a tight fit ) My brother's 6'8" & drove around in a clubman GT for a ages with no problems I looked at a mini 30, equinox and had a go in a cooper, with the seat all way back ( which I still have to do in my barge of a M0NDE0 ST220 ) my knee's were wedged under steering wheel Saying that tho, I'd still love to restore some mini's, MK1 cooper-s, a pickup, van and like your bro's, a clubman 1275GT , there's a mini specialist close to myself, but would'nt touch anything they sell/restore
Stu_B Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 You can get brackets to move the seat back behind the chassis section
Andrade Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 I quite like these, i imagine a black one hugging the ground with fat rear tyres
5.0S-teve Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Just thought of some more: Morris Ital Van ( old mate of my dads had one that had a tuned MGB 1800 engine in ) HB Viva, landrover lightweight, mk1 RX7 and for any back to the future fans: early Toyota Hi-lux ( i think they're very cool )
joe1600 Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Well I have a soft spot for Alfasuds, Hillman hunter GLS, Any fiat Abarth but my all time favourite is the Audi Quattro
