a bloke my dad know told him that hes been asked to clear an old ladys garage out and she said there was a old escort in there, her husband passed away 16 years ago and it was left in there, they where gorna scrap it if i dint want it. so i thought great theres a few bits i need for mine so ill have it for bits, me and dad went to look to see what escort it was but we couldnt get in the garage properly as only half the door would open but we could see it was a 4dr mk2. so we said we'll have it for bits they said the scrap guy would give them £40 so we said we'll give them £50 thinking it was a rotting heap. we went there friday to go pick it up, we managed to get both the doors open and had a look at it it looked pretty tidy so we dragged it out and where astonished, it was mint bar a couple of bits of surface rust and the boot lids totally had it.

heres some pics. im well excited. :D

this is where she'd been hiding for 16 years

Congratulation on your find  Looks like a very solid car, and only 50£, you're a lucky man.

Was a simular story that lead me to my silver mk2, I'm so glad I followed up on that - bet you feel the same way. One more saved from the scrabby.

That must be cool finding an old car in a shed, 'lost' for 16 years.

The car itself though does nothing for me. I'm sure you'll make quite a bit of money off it though, 4 doors are going to a lot these days.

I love stories like this, the shed doesnt look that weather proof so lucky its in such good condition.

A late car and looks good, I can see why you wanted one in beige as I have one in the same colour and it will so get you noticed as no modern cars are beige anymore. Was the lady pleased it found a home with someone who will restore it rather than the scrapman?
