The accident involved 2 of my mates who are in hospital now. Didn't really know driver but he died and one mate is currently paralysed from the neck down with feeling in his right arm only.

 

I don't know what to think about the nails to be honest, just hoping my mates are ok.

glueing nails to the road in said area to stop "street racers" is akin to vigilante "justice" which is also illegal and imho a much worse and scarier thing then a little bit of speeding and in this case it has resulted in the death of one man and paralysis of another

 

who is commiting the worse crime ?

 

what goes through your head to make you do that ... what if an ambulance in a hurry had used the same route to avoid traffic conjestion and rolled killing the crew and patient ?

People have some strange ideas, but they should really think about the consequences of their actions before they do it. Even if it was to stop street racing ordinary drivers still use roads

Update on the passengers from a mate who went to see them yesterday.

 

Hayden has a broken pelvis, elbow and borke some bones in his neck and back, but will be OK.

 

Smithy had some feeling return to his left arm yesterday which is a really positive good sign.

Perhaps the person responsible has had a family member killed or seriously injured by the so called 'street racers'? Maybe local residents are fed up with it? It's possible that there are a million other reasons that they did this. Does seem a bit extreme, but people do have strange ideas.

agreed vista road racing is illegal but that could have been a emergency vehicle goin past over 100mph not a road racer this person placing the nails is sick in the head an in my eyes more of a criminal than the folk in the cossie if they had issues with illegal racing ring the police this is what there paid to do
