nickb Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 I'm going back from 15's to 13's but can't decide on which ones, got the choice down to 3 so going to let you all decide.

SebringRS Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Never been a fan of starmags, although quite like the mk2 version But still, RS' for me
monkeymoreton Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 the starmag mk2's would make your escort a lil different and theres too many on rs 4 spokes
nickb Posted April 14, 2011 Author Report Posted April 14, 2011 well it seems quite clear what you all like but for those who have looked close at the Hornet will know i'm not one to follow the crowd which is how it ended up on 15s after buying it on Revos, i do love the new 7.5 RS wheels but fear they will be every where by next summer. I need to take a trip to Midland Wheels to see them in the flesh but I'm still drawn to the Mk2 starmags but who knows, if the rs look as good as they do in the picture it will a tough choice.
nickb Posted April 15, 2011 Author Report Posted April 15, 2011 the whole point is to be a bit different, if the new dished 7.5 rims do not fit I will not be putting on the boring flat faced rims, sorry i don't mean to offend those who like them but i would rather stick a fork in my eye than fit them to my escort, i don't see why they would not fit they are 13 mm wider than the 7s and have 12mm more negative offset and would still be running 185/60, arches are rolled. The only chance is them hitting the front strut but would hope they have been designed better than that. Has anyone tried to fit the 7.5s?
boXXer Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 the 7" dont look flat anyway, had them on my mk1.
Admin Vista Posted April 15, 2011 Admin Report Posted April 15, 2011 7.5's will rub wont they? you'd need 7's I think these new JBW 7.5J rims are available in different offsets, this should (if true) alleviate the rubbing issue. 4 spokes for me
fieldy1972 Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 be different man go for the star mags mk2 just brought these for my mk2 escort. i did spray the stars satin black as it was too much chrome for my liking. the RS ones are the dogs danglies but i wanted something different from the 4-spokes and the superlites.

RossMK2 Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 if it aint 4 spokes (which are what i'd choose)it would have to be mk2 starmags
fieldy1972 Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 any pics? i love the superlites but simply could not bring myself to join the crowd, always been out on my own (first car was Brown Mk1 Astra) sure do mate......
nickb Posted April 16, 2011 Author Report Posted April 16, 2011 i love the deep dish, they look cracking. i'm going to wait until the respray is done and then see if the 7.5 rs will fit, if not then it's going to be the mk2 starmags. thanks to everyone for their input
