Kirbycortina Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Some of you may have seen my v8 mk2 cortina on ebay this week well i sort of put it on there in a mood!!. Had some good offers upto 7k but turned them down as i wasnt certain it was the right move. well i polished her up today and had a call from a photographer with a hope of a mag feature. one of the reasons for maybe selling was a lack of friends or a wife who are really into the old skool ford scene. so now i am going to make an effort to meet some old skool members at some shows and get on the site alot more!! But if i had of let the car go my life would be so much duller. Phew that was close!!
lotusless Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Good to hear that you kept the tina come along to some of the shows that we are having a club stand on and you will be made welcome.
jamie Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Yes good decision mate. Hopefully catch you at a show sometime soon!
Top Ghia Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 You need to join a local club mate. I did as non of my mates or family are into old motors and have met some really nice people as a result. They dont all own Fords though many do but they all share the common interest of owning and running classic cars. Theres a good social scene and plenty of help and advice should you need it.

BoDuke Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 I know the feeling kirbycortina. Had parts for sale on here and just about to put the car up for sale and looking around this site, made me keep it. Got a new lease of life on the old gal.
2litreScapri Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Glad you decided to keep it, it's a minter! I think the winter lets down lots of people who can't be bothered, & what with the economic climate, fuel costs etc etc, but summer show season comes round & everybody's back on a high because they get out & about. Glad you're sticking with it, hope to see the 'Tina at a show soon!

Did my shoot with retro ford today so look out for it in junes issue available in may. It is no longer for sale at all!
stuartp Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 sweet baby jeebus crispus on a pushbike that's one good looking cortina! i too am glad you haven't sold it i get the reason why you might have though. I can see peoples eyes glaze over sometimes when I get the slightest chance to talk about old cars and I have to stop myself (my wife knows this only too well). It's a rare treat to have a good old natter with someone who feels the same way. It's also really useful to know someone nearby who might be up for tinkering together (oo er) shows over the summer should probably provide these things (although I haven't personally found anyone all that close to me yet)
dannysmk1 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 hi i too seen the car on ebay wow very nice car...glad you are keeping it and as for shows.. classic ford show is the one not to be missed..see you there....
