Some of you may have seen my v8 mk2 cortina on ebay this week well i sort of put it on there in a mood!!. Had some good offers upto 7k but turned them down as i wasnt certain it was the right move. well i polished her up today and had a call from a photographer with a hope of a mag feature. one of the reasons for maybe selling was a lack of friends or a wife who are really into the old skool ford scene. so now i am going to make an effort to meet some old skool members at some shows and get on the site alot more!! But if i had of let the car go my life would be so much duller. Phew that was close!!

You need to join a local club mate. I did as non of my mates or family are into old motors and have met some really nice people as a result. They dont all own Fords though many do but they all share the common interest of owning and running classic cars. Theres a good social scene and plenty of help and advice should you need it.

I know the feeling kirbycortina. Had parts for sale on here and just about to put the car up for sale and looking around this site, made me keep it. Got a new lease of life on the old gal.

Glad you decided to keep it, it's a minter! I think the winter lets down lots of people who can't be bothered, & what with the economic climate, fuel costs etc etc, but summer show season comes round & everybody's back on a high because they get out & about. Glad you're sticking with it, hope to see the 'Tina at a show soon!

Get the car on the Old Skool Ford stand at Classic Ford show mate, you will meet LOADS of link minded down to earth people, and then my friend you will be converted to the Dark side and never look back

Pukka car by the way :twisted::twisted:

sweet baby jeebus crispus on a pushbike that's one good looking cortina!

i too am glad you haven't sold it

i get the reason why you might have though. I can see peoples eyes glaze over sometimes when I get the slightest chance to talk about old cars and I have to stop myself (my wife knows this only too well). It's a rare treat to have a good old natter with someone who feels the same way.

It's also really useful to know someone nearby who might be up for tinkering together (oo er)

shows over the summer should probably provide these things (although I haven't personally found anyone all that close to me yet)
