Surprise really, where did you learn that?

I wasn't keen on the journalistic style of the mag but I thought it had quite a good following.

Hope they all find work they enjoy elsewhere

Could of been one of many reasons as it is part of a group of magazines, but with the quality of the mag I doubt it was retroford that was the key factor. Most people just use the net for stuff now so magazines are bought less and less :-(

Very unfortunate

That's a shame.

I hope those employed find other jobs quickly and the change is pain free.

I used to buy the classic ford mag monthly, that was a few years ago now. My dad bought me a years worth of delivered mags for my birthday recently and It's just full of adverts. Shame really. It's read in about 15 minutes then cast to one side. Like others have said, nothing that can not be got on the interweb.

There’s nothing on their website about it and it says the June 2013 magazine is out now.

I'm not surprised if this is the case as I think alot of people cancelled their subscriptions after they were seen to be supporting/sponsoring a banger race made up of classic Fords. Hardly any shops near to where I live stock it, the same with Performance Ford (if its still going) which is I believe owned by the same company that owns Retro Ford. Another reason is that is was too similar to Classic Ford, what they should have done is come at the scene from another angle maybe a mag for standard cars or for motorsport or a more hands on practical mechanics side. Trying to sell two almost identical products to a small market is always going to be difficult, if they were both very different from each other its likely the consumer would buy both.

Has this been confirmed or is it all bullshit?

Anyway, if it has gone, its a shame. I think its a sign of the dying scene myself.

If this is indeed true , then its a real shame .

I must admit I did prefer it in its original form, which was to feature truly

mad and modified uk road cars ,of which there are loads still which deserve a feature.

puddy

ps. sorry about the underlining , bloody computers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was something about another company has brought the rights to these magazines though so they may still continue with different editors/writers

is a shame i think the net might have something to do with it nearly £5 a mag a month an with just as much info info an builds on line for free r/ford did some great features

I read somewhere else that Retro Cars magazine has been sold to another company but Retro Ford and Performance Ford have folded .I got a few of the early Retro Ford mags but have stuck to Classic Ford mag as £10 ish is a bit steep for them both.

Read on their Retards Club page that the mag will continue. Has been bought by the people behind Practical Performance Car, which is good i think. I personally really like the mag, prefer it to Classic Ford, just think the photography is much better and the articles seem to flow better.

I too stopped buying it when they seemed keen on the whole banger racing Cortina's thing

Long live classic ford mag :)

i've not bought any of them for a few years, as it's mostly the same old thing and loads of adds.

The ads obviously subsidise the cover price, so the ads are a necessity, try looking at an American hot rodding magazine! Clearly you can only feature car that are being constructed.............

Retro Ford, Retro Cars and Performance Ford have all been sold to other publishers and will continue to be printed as per usual.

The staff will more than likely be different though.

From what Ben put on the Retro Ford Retards Club page, does sound like its being redone with different staff :(

Hi guys
There is a lot being said out there in internet-land regarding the future of Retro Ford Magazine. The good news is that it's just moving house and the crew at PPC/Blockhead Media are taking the rudder.
I'm sure that they will fill you in on their plans in due course, but the key thing is that Retro Ford will still be on the shelves.
On a personal level - I've lived and loved the magazine for the best part of eight years. In that time it has occupied my every waking hour. Both Paul and I would like to thank all of those that have been on the journey with us, and that have supported us, bought the magazine each month and helped make Retro Ford happen. We've met a lot of cool people, seen a lot of cool cars and I'm sure you'll still see us both out and about at shows etc in the future.
As I've always said, these cars were my life before the magazine and will continue to be so after it.

Print magazines need you - so please keep buying them! Or, if you didn't before, start now!!

It's been emotional and thanks again.

Ben

There will be a further announcement soon regarding subs etc, then the new management will take over!
