Has anyone ever seen or heard of a rear spoiler for the MK1 Escort?

classic ford march 2006 (i think) the cover car was a mk1 escort XE estate.

 

inside was a purple mk1 built by R********T and it had a rear spoiler on. rare as rocking horse shit supposedly...look gay too

yes mate i saw that one, it looked like a mk2 one to me and fitted crap, not sure about his story too

Yep...My Mate Gary Made his own alloy boot spoiler,Similar to the Duck tail Rs2600 Capri..

Its the nuts,I think he has made 3 in total and they were for friends...He is bringing his Mk1 to Brighton....

now thats interestin coz i heard that in the 70's MK1 race cars had a rear spoiler fitted the same as Capri RS 3.1, the Ski jump type

Baz, in an early issue of CF mag there was a guy with a reddy/orange mk1 with bubble arches and a 2.2 slant 4 lotus engine in it, he had a genuine mk1 RS boot spoiler. Think his name was Chris Evans if i recall right(not the ginger haired one )

There was one in an issue of Ford Heritage years ago with front and rear, I thought it looked poo tbh, but the Ducktail looks nice on that big winged racer.

The duck tails are an after market add on and they're a personal taste thing, but there were rubber boot spoilers similar to the mk2 spoiler available for the mk1. They were far more common on the continent than here (though still not that common there either). I saw one come up on eBay a year or so ago but interest was limited for a couple of reasons

 

1) People weren't sure whether it was genuine or not

 

2) The general opinion seemed to be that it didn't suit a mk1 anyway.
