Do you get acknowledged when out driving

Last night I was out in my Escort when, slowly approaching a double roundabout I didn't know, a Honda Civic Type R came flying down the road towards me, he saw my car, slammed on and crept onto the round about, flashed his lights, sounded his horn, and gave me a big thumbs up out of his window, then grinning like a wanking monkey, roared off again.

3 miles up the road a recovery truck driver waved out of his window and gave me the thumbs up, so now truckers and young ricers like me, it's a worry in my senior years 

Maybe Lynx should bring out a new body spray that smells of petrol/oil/waxoyl and call it "The Ford effect"

I get this as well while buzzing around.

We are obviously just more attrative than everyone else!

Yep Rich and I get this too whilst out in the Escort and Anglia, although once a long time ago we was out for a drive in the Escort and got chased by a car full of blokes that nearly run us off the road, they wanted to know if it was a Mexico, when I said it wasn't they drove off!! It was a bit scary to say the least and I was put off going out in the car for a while after!

Yep, get it all the time. The RS gets noticed more often than the van but it is bright orange!

When I had the Granada, every time we went out people would give the thumbs up, wave or even hang out the window taking pictures on their phones! It was mad!! At the beginning, I just assumed they all thought the suspension had collapsed

Every time i go out, one or two waves and when parked up been  asked iff i mind iff they have a look around and inside on a few occasions

i must look a bit scary lol

I normally give any old motors a nod or wave and usually get one back, strangely MG owners never acknowledge me ?

Had a headlight flash off a car coming towards me a few weeks back and then he pulled in. Only a genuine HSR Chevette...  Was a case of show me yours and I'll show you mine.

 

Same weekend, putting air in the back tyres on the Escort and this guy came up to me with his wife and said he had the exact same Capri as mine, only his was in red. Haha, we chatted for a few minutes with him looking around the engine etc, but I didn't have the heart to tell him it ws an Escort

yep i get this quit a bit   more so in the mk 1 mex than the mk 2  had ferrari drivers lambo and aston martin drivers wave at me but it always is the truck drivers hat give you the thumbs up  even had a hells angel give a wave once

Often get the acknowledgements on the road, more so with my red/orange Mk3 Cortina than the Mk5 Crusader,  people like to come have a chat in petrol stations as well!

Yep, the mk1 gets all the thumbs up. The Dodge Dart gets more though, perhaps because its ****ing loud

When I first got it I was always getting flashed, beeped and thumbs up.

 

Not had any for a long time now. Think folk are sick of my car round my way now!

I use my capri every day and I'm always suprised at the number of people who put there thumbs up! And make comments! However when I drive the anglia I think I just upset people !
