I quite like that Cortina (OK, except the offset Ford badge, the bonnet vents and ill-fitting roll cage are a bit of an eye sore). But, it's a bit Kaido racer...
HotRodMatt Posted May 10, 2019 Report Posted May 10, 2019 I'm starting to think of '90s built cars in the same way as '80s built cars: they looked better stock. 1
meXEco Posted May 10, 2019 Report Posted May 10, 2019 I remember that from the magazines - number plate says it all! 1 1

I don't mind the bonnet too much.....but agree RE lights, wheels and mirrors. That said, 10 years from now who says people won't be slating the rubber band 175/50 look? I confess that I already do 😁 1

Absolutely, trends change. Although, I've never been a fan of wheels with that sort of offset (I can't remember whether that's lots of +ve or lots of -ve!) particularly on RWD cars (for some reason). I like some dish. Maybe because I've been around too many decades! It's going to be a challenge keeping my (extremely) slow-build 'Tina fashionable...! What's the current phrase? "On point"? See? Not so long ago, that would have been "trendy", "de rigeur" or "a la mode"...! Sorry, might have gone slightly off topic....
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted May 10, 2019 Moderator Report Posted May 10, 2019 I can just cope with the front but then as you turn your head as it drives past and then you cop a view of the back. Those tail lights are nasty.
Admin Vista Posted May 15, 2019 Author Admin Report Posted May 15, 2019 I'm sure the Drag fans will like it and I recognise it's built for a purpose........but it's a no from me 1

Because I've zero interest in drag racing, I see a nice classic car ( a 2 door Mk5 no less) with a giant nose on the bonnet, enormous wheels and tyres at the rear, likely horrendously loud and uncomfortable to be in, very heavy up front and no practical use as a car..............whereas you no doubt see a race car that's enormously powerful, huge grip, very fast off the line and gives a great adrenalin rush when the lights go green (just don't mention corners eh )? Lol, it's MOT'd too. Though I'm laughing my off at this advisory from 2017. No shit sherlock! Date tested 20 June 2017 PASS Mileage 3,689 miles MOT test number 9412 4915 7130 Expiry date: 19 June 2018 Advisory notice item(s): Exhaust noisy (7.1.4) 2 2
HotRodMatt Posted May 15, 2019 Report Posted May 15, 2019 Yeah the scoop's a bit '90s, to be fair. I'd prefer a couple of big filters on top of the carbs sticking out.
Rusty Bodie Posted May 24, 2019 Report Posted May 24, 2019 This has to be one of the worst travesties ever performed on a Ford Mustang - those wheels look like they came out of a 1970s board game!!! 1
HotRodMatt Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 Just because it was the '80s, doesn't make it right.

Rich T Posted May 28, 2019 Report Posted May 28, 2019 Id run the white MK1 as it is 😎. Maybe lose the lake pipe but other than that, it's as cool as a cucumber.
