Are there any 'Trade' secrets on being a good Grandad? It's a girl BTW - Sienna 2

Lorry?? Why no' jis ca him Trrruck an bae done wi it?!!" Tips on being a Grandad? Dunno, despite being the same age as you, my kids are 6 and 4 so I'm a long way off that yet.............. GrandPa!

[emoji3] That would fit the bill from one of my Grandads but the one still alive was sat with me on the yellow sausage in Malta 10yrs ago! He is 80 now and is still game for anything. He lives here in Summer and in Malta Oct-April! Jammy sod!

Well, it it's anything like being an aunt and a great-aunt, your job is to do all the fun and cool stuff without any need to think about discipline. Discipline is the parents' responsibility. My sister once said she hated me, hated that I turn up, take my nephew out for burgers and a movie, then wander off again without any cares, while she has to hassle him to clean his football kit, do his homework, tidy his room. Hahahaahhaha! I imagine grand-parenting is like this. 2

Stick her in the back wearing a pair of type2 aircraft goggles and a large dummy to keep the flys out! She'll luv it. It's when they get to about 4 they want there own tool kit, quad to mend the list gets longer! It's when they come home from ballet dancing and say are we off in the garage to mend things grandad, your jobs done ! after that be prepared for the bollockings for dirty fingernails/dresses and scuffed shoes. The good thing about grand kids is when they start complaining you can Give them back. You might think you will get away lightly been a girl NO CHANCE there worse. It's great fun being a grandad enjoy it 1
deltamal Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 Iv'e got 5 grandchildren, (official OSF old git!) aged from 3 months to 3, 16, 20, & 22 years old, the youngest 2 live 5 mins away the oldest in Portsmouth, I have the most to do with the 3 year old, strangely we find the same things interesting and funny! as said they can be very enjoyable company without the discipline, he loves to be involved with the Cortina and anything to do with steam engines! ENJOY!
