look nice are the black inserts sprayed too or stickers

I only noticed for the first time the other day you can get stickers for them now on Ebay.

All paint.  I saw the stickers on ebay but the seller sead there were a few variants in sizes and may not be a perfect fit. And i was worried about sticker peel at a later date.

I had the wheels shot blasted. Then i primered, wetflatted and painted the wheels silver. Waited a few weeks then masked them up for the black. Waited another week and laquered them. 2 hours per wheel of masking up.

Apparently the way to do it is paint the wheel centre black, mask off the sections then paint over with the silver.

I must have too much time on my hands lol.

Yes they are 5.5j wheels

They have come out real nice

did you have a problem restoring them and can it be done on any steels

or do they have to be quite decent before you started as i am thinking of buying a 5.5 set and getting them refurbished

any recommendations  to

The wheels were in generally good shape. A bit rusty here and there and looked like they had maybe been brush painted years ago.

I think the idea is not to rush or cut corners.

Are you going to do them yourself?

I cant see a problem with any steels being refurbed to be honest. As long as the wheels are straight (round) to start with.

Powder coating around my way is about £35 per wheel. If done in Silver, you'd still have to do the black bits yourself.

I had some scabby mini lights done and am very happy with the job.

is that per wheel  i take it

can get new alloys for that much lol

That was for a set of 4

Yeh, as sead. Powdercoaters is a good option.

They should be able to do the whole process as a one stop shop. Blasting and powdercoating.

Mex steels on mine. Shotblasted and powdercoated by local shop....£40 each... couldn't decide about black inserts so just stuck them on. Love the look9fd10dec8296fd6d5f7273b53e337a7d.jpg
