well i decided to have the steels but the 5.5j  as i liked the bigger dish on them only think now is 

black decals or not

All paint.  I saw the stickers on ebay but the seller sead there were a few variants in sizes and may not be a perfect fit. And i was worried about sticker peel at a later date. 

I had the wheels shot blasted. Then i primered, wetflatted and painted the wheels silver. Waited a few weeks then masked them up for the black. Waited another week and laquered them. 2 hours per wheel of masking up.

Apparently the way to do it is paint the wheel centre black, mask off the sections then paint over with the silver.

I must have too much time on my hands lol.

Steelies. They give the 1300e a distinctive look unique to it. RS alloys will just confuse it with a Mexico or something.

1300 is to classy to wear rs alloys or any type of wheel associated with rallying etc.

Dartboard Wheel is widened to 6.5j would look good with 185 x 55 x 13

well that's decided the MK 1 RS alloys will go back in the garage

shame really because they are original MK 1 5.5j was going to re-furbish them to original spec and colour

You could always screw one to the wall and use it for keeping your hose pipe tidy.....lol

Why not get them refurbed, new tyres and fit them?

Have 2 sets of wheels and change them as your mood suits.

I doubt you would be the 1st or last person to have a few sets of wheels for a car.

Prefer steelies myself but its your car not mine.

Personally I like the mex steelies but again I have 4 different sets for when I change my mind!!
Like the idea of a hose pipe holder tho

I've just fitted the sport 5.5 stelies on my Cortina Crusader, had them shot blasted and powder-coated in silver with a fine flake, I fitted the vinyl decals and then had the wheels clear lacquered  so they don't peel, I'm now hunting down some steel embellishers to finish it, trying to keep the Crusader fairly standard.

I got some 13inch ones off ebay. Fair play they fit very well and shiny.

Why waste a good hose putting it on the wall?

Steelies are versatile.
