katana Posted July 7, 2018 Report Posted July 7, 2018 Learn't your lesson now! If it ain't 2 packed and clear coated and fitted with plastic panels / bumpers don't EVER go to a 'hand' wash - if they are paid minimum wage (lucky) then the prices don't even cover a decent job, materials, water, site rental and profit - draw you own conclusions!
Kenbex522 Posted July 7, 2018 Report Posted July 7, 2018 Maybe we're fortunate where I live. We have two very good ones nearby. I dont take my number one classic, but I do take number two classic occasionally, the paint is shite anyway. But even on the dailys they do cracking jobs. Both are often packed. For £5 not worth the bother of getting my own cleaning stuff out. Luck of the draw i guess as there are a couple of others in the area I wouldn't bother with for similar reasons the OP posted.
Ray Posted July 7, 2018 Report Posted July 7, 2018 agree with Katana, in fat my 3 classics have never even been washed, they were compounded and waxed by the sprayer, and ive done nothing since, and still shine

Take it to the professional car wash to find they have never driven a manual before so you think its best just wait for the restrictions to end. I remember one of the few times I went to an auto car wash in the late 80's and was waiting my turn in the Mk2 Escort. I was reading the sign that stated "No Whale Tails" and thought well the rubber MK2 RS boot spoiler should be alright and then just at that very moment a 911 whale tail came flying out of the car wash narrowly missing the front of my car. I thought lucky I read the sign cause someone obviously didn't. I drove off before an angry Porsche owner came out looking for his bits.
PeterMEscort Posted July 7, 2018 Report Posted July 7, 2018 "Sometimes in Summer here there are water restrictions it becomes illegal to wash your car at home." Sorry. But this particular state government "law" is infact unlawful under Commonwealth law here in Australia. The Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1901 clearly states (loosely) no government can abridge the use of the supply of water for any reason.

PeterMEscort Posted July 10, 2018 Report Posted July 10, 2018 Australian citizens are protected by one of the best Constitution's in the world. It is one of the few things that can protect us on the slippery slide down the path to socialism and totalitarian control. Unfortunately very few Australian's have ever heard of the Commonwealth Constitution. And even fewer have any idea of what is in it, and how it protects us, and our families every day. And even fewer have the intestinal fortitude to stand up and challenge the unlawful laws being contrived unlawfully every day by our elected representatives, and the courts, in whom we as little people are educated and conditioned to obey, and trust, and fear.
