Episodoe 5 when he visits the Cosworth factory they show a Cosworth Sierra. That car is an Australian built race car by Dick Johnson racing. I saw that No.17 car race many times on various circuits and even took a photo of him standing beside it on a Friday practice session when you could walk through the pits without bothering anyone. I wonder how it ended up there in the UK? Pinching our Escorts isn't enough already! LOL

Chihuahua? They are not cute, they are the canine equivalent of demons! #DevilDog ?

And by the way, Chihuahua? Have you been leading us all on and you are really a 65 year old woman? ?

I dont ever seem to have much choice with dog breeds, I just seem to get what comes along. The story goes along the lines of many years ago I found a staving Chihuahua down the south coast that I rescued. Like they normally weigh 2 to 3 kilos but this one was down to 750 grams with the mange. I ended up nursing her back to health with the intent to find her a good home but you know by that time your well and truly hooked. She loved going for drives in the Escort and sit on the back parcel shelf to get a good view. (Got into trouble with the cops for that once). Once she died I refused to get another ever again. But one day out of the blue family took it upon themselves and handed me this thing in a basket. We take the Escort to the reservoir once a week.

A 65yo Dorris couldn't possibly be a parts hoarder. They want to throw them all away in preference for a tidy house. Question my masculinity and I'll set the dog on ya, she chases horses already. (and the roos at the reservoir) LOL

While we're talking about video links, I watched the first 3 episodes of this MK1 Escort build earlier :

Sorry to hijack your tread Col.

Dale did you get to watch all 11 episodes? What do you guys think of their independent rear suspension setup? I know they are professional engineers but it just seemed to be hobbling it together with bits and ideas from other cars without possibly knowing the end result. Noting the customer wanted an original live axle, it just made me wonder without extensive testing of the end product, will it be a very expensive experiment that may not work in the end? Fortunately the customer is a famous F1 designer I suppose he would know if they are going down the wrong path.

Note - He also wanted the car to look like a Twincam and then they didn't paint it orange? Someone dropped the ball there.

I'm only on episode 5 at the moment.

Looking at the back axle and some of their other builds, I don't think it's the first time they've used this set-up. Probably played it down a bit for the cameras and a lot of it was done using geometry software.

I must admit the colour and black grill/bumpers don't work for me. The front wheel track seems to extend unusually outside the front guards that's more than wide wheels and the usual negative camber. Over use of adjustable top mounts I suspect.
