BROWNY 1968 Posted November 18, 2019 Report Share Posted November 18, 2019 im looking at returning my escort back to road legalness(is that a word) as its been in motorsport use for a number of years, been run on the strip, and everything I didn't need was removed, still kept all the bits, as I knew I would be putting them all back on one day. so my question is has anyone taken off there quickrack and gone back to a standard steering rack for road use, I know the steering can a bit heavier with the qr but am im going to miss it, other part of the equation is wifey might want to drive it, and she was never a fan of the qr thoughts please cheers guys 🙂 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ive got one on my car and its great for road use. I know there are a couple of ratios, cant remember what mine is but its the milder one out of the 2 (i looked at). Rally Pack 2000 Posted November 19, 2019 Report Share Posted November 19, 2019 I had a 2.4 on my road car for 20 years. It wasn't too bad but parking did get tough sometimes. When I changed it a couple of years back I didn't go back to standard but someone here recommended a 2.9 instead. Its perfectly road worthy and parking much better now. Originally quick racks came in 2.4 and 2.7s but when I last checked 2.7s weren't available but I keep an eye out and would like to try it to compare with the 2.9.
