Dleigh00
Hey Guys, I'm 19 years old and am going to be buying my first classic mustang. To be honest, I don't know much about maintaining a classic car so it would be very helpful if anyone could advise me on the dos and don'ts when owning such a car. Its a 1967 4.7L 289 for those who are interested. Many thanks
Vista
19 and buying a 4.7 litre Mustang? 😲 Just curious, have you looked into insurance yet as most class policies have an age restriction on them. Welcome to the forum, I look forward to seeing pics of the car.
Dleigh00
haha ive looked into Adrian Flux and they said its fine. Although my age does make it expensive, around £4500 a year. I am waiting for some light repair on it before I buy, the guy said the spindle that holds the clutch and brake together got out of position and lockdown makes it hard for any mechanic to repair.

Good luck and use and enjoy! yeah im expecting that but it has had a complete rework so im pretty sure one of the only things that is original on the car is the actual engine block. Monza
£4500 for insurance!!?? That's steep... but being 19 with a 4.7L Mustang, I suppose it's to be expected. Good luck with it....Welcome to OSF m8 Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Johnny Boy
I imported a 9 year old modern Mustang a few years ago, retro looks with modern car reliability and drivability. Those old classic Mustang's are great looking cars, but don't drive too nice, until you upgrade the steering and suspension. All the parts are available , and reasonable. Try Rockauto for parts, in the USA , but ship reasonable to the UK. 😀
