Ray Posted August 1, 2020 Report Posted August 1, 2020 get genuine ford, or pattern rubber, silicon are junk, ask Nick to his cost, lousy fit, leak and wrong shapes 1
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted August 1, 2020 Moderator Report Posted August 1, 2020 If you do have to go silicon then use the Samco Classic that's meant to simulate the natural rubber look and not be so shiny. I still didn't like them either though as they didn't have the original texture of the rubber ones. I agree with Ray, while I dont use original Ford ones as they arent readily available the pattern rubber ones are still great and cheaper than the silicon ones and look more original. So much so Im still perplexed about the whole silicon hose deal and why you would use them when they are so expensive when you get more original looking rubbers ones for less money? Its probably a racing thing.
DT36 Posted August 1, 2020 Report Posted August 1, 2020 My car had blue Samco hoses when I bought it. Changed hoses back to original black now, all bar bottom of rad which is out of sight. That will also get done eventually.
Huge Posted August 1, 2020 Author Report Posted August 1, 2020 This is exactly the stuff I was after & imo is OSF’s gathered experience in one place! Anyone in support of Silicon?

colr6 Posted August 1, 2020 Report Posted August 1, 2020 I used silicon hoses on the Tina, the only complaint I would have is the thickness. Somewhat large in tight spaces. My rear head to oil cooler hose is right next to a sender on the head and it certainly took some getting on without damaging the sender. Apart from that no issues.
Monza Posted August 1, 2020 Report Posted August 1, 2020 I got no problems with it - used on Zetec install due to varying hose diameters / non standard rubber availability and used for boosted air installations - no problems to date.As above....got mine in black from RF for the zetec conversion, due to not being able to find alternatives although I did try various other hoses first. Been ok since fitting them 2 years and 6k miles ago Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
