Sorry, can't help with the sun-strip but I'm old enough to remember when Radio 1 changed from 275/285 MW to FM, we had little diamond shaped stickers to put on our wireless (that's a radio to you youngsters) sets to accurately mark the new frequencies.

Seeing the sun-strip and logos takes me back to the Radio 1 roadshows, bits and pieces, smiley miley, etc.

Yes remember those stickers  well…..we  went to torquay on holiday in 1992 and ended up on the beach at the radio 1 roadshow with a young  Simon Mayo , smiley miley ..and introducing a unknown shite group  called ….. Take That … never did know what happened to them !!!

I know from car stripes the originals in boxes no longer stick properly so I had them replicated. With clear graphics or photos im sure you could get a brand new replacement that would stick perfectly. (and a few spares) Thats the route I would probably take in that situation.

tbh RP, ive been looking into this one for a couple of years, and so far no one is interested in replicating them in the UK, going back to the 80s, they stuck to the inside, and the vinyl was made by 3M, im told that 3M no longer make it and that todays car window grade vinyls are designed and made to stick externally, then theres also the copy write laws that put a potential manufacturer off copying it in the uk

then we have the stupid modern UK laws that actually ban the product if it goes into the swept are of the wipers, and all our modern cars have markings on the screen that refer to it, the only legal tint on the windscreen in the swept are of the screen here, is the one made into the screen at manufacture, this info is on a lot of car wrapping sites, which is where i got it from, but you can see why these things are no longer produced or reproduced, my daily is a mk7 transit with a massive screen, but the wiper swept area is also massive, and no aftermarket tint is legally allowed on that screen

with a genuine classic screen theres no markings, but pilkington make a shitty repro laminated screen for the mk1, they offer it tinted and with or without a built in sinstrip, but all those new screens have the legal markings of where its allowed, and it was their rep that explained that all to me what the markings were when i complained about them, they have to legally put them there

so im just down to trying to find some NOS originals unfortunately

Wow your government is almost as bad as ours trying to regulate everything till there is no free choice left!

Ahh don't start. You are steered towards electric vehicles, new petrol cars aren't allowed after 2035 or something. Now I read that in Switzerland they are thinking of a ban on using elecric cars in the near future because electricity is scarce. In a few years we are all driving Flintstone cars with no sunstrips 😟
