Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted October 4, 2023 Author Moderator Report Posted October 4, 2023 My attempt to purchase some went totally awry. they basically got lost in transit for a number of months cause the seller didn't declare on the customs forms what they actually were just car parts so they sat in a warehouse till that was sorted out. The seller would never return my emails so I ended up getting my money back through Paypal but one day the parcel showed up but after all the crap they sent the completely wrong nuts instead. I have no idea what these strange nuts are meant to fit. This is what I ordered This is what I got! After that they did bother to finally write me an email to demand their payment back. I didn't even dignify their demand with a response as I couldn't think of anything to say without swearing. So after almost a year im still trying to find a source.

They have tapered loose washers so should fit. I will let you know.
Miniliteman Posted October 4, 2023 Report Posted October 4, 2023 James, the wheel nuts you received look like the ones used for GP4 wheel for normal wheelstuds. (have these on my car)

(have these on my car) That's interesting. It explains why I I didn't recognise them as I don't have much to do with competition stuff. The sleeve looks incredibly long. The spokes or centres on those wheels must be incredibly thick.

Yes they are. But at the rear those nuts almost touched the hub/mating face so I took 6 mm or so off. 1

I see that Classic Parts Shack does them, but never dealt with them, any one any other sources? https://www.classicpartsshack.co.uk/store/p310/Ford_Capri_Mk3_Laser_wheel_nut_12mm_x_1.5mm_(Box_6)__Sold_Individually.html Hi James, Just got some of these from fleebay. They fit perfectly if you are still on the look out. 1

Vista Estate Posted October 21, 2023 Report Posted October 21, 2023 Yep. They are similar to RS alloys but a fraction of the cost and easier to get in good condition.

Yes that's why I got them, I couldn't find a proper set of RS alloys locally but a seller did have Capri Lasers. But Im just using regular ones with a tapered seat and I just feel the extra location of the protruding end would offer better location. So you have used them with success then on your Capri Lasers? They definitely offer better location? Some mentioned that some they bought went too far through the hole and protruded out the other side that they had to have them machined down but these look like the should work without any mods as the end doesn't seem to be that long.

It does James. I have a spare alloy so when I get a minute I'll take you a pic. They are on mine all OK. 1

Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted October 22, 2023 Author Moderator Report Posted October 22, 2023 They look excellent at locating Laser wheels over just the tapered seats. Thanks so much for that. Will try ordering a set!
