Ordered some small screws and rubber rings in UK, cost for parts 11,36 Euro. Cost for postage 9,67 Euro. Total 21,03 Euro. Guess how much I have to pay on taxes and handling-charges to the Postman to get the parcel? Winner receives a medal.

it should be free, if they sayed it's a gift, and as far as i know, everything under 45 euro's should be free, they charged me i think 8,50 euro for the tea my sister sent to me, worth 15 ponds ?, that's what coverment will do to the own folk, in every country, if i go to englandi can get up to 600 euro's tax free in to the country, if i come back, it's just 300 euro's, and we still have to beleave we are living in free country's, i didn't beleave in fairy taills when i was young, today it pisses me off, that's why i try to stick it as much to the coverments, and tell taills at the border, witch works great.

if you need some more stuff, you could send it to my sister, and i will get it back, i will go to the classic ford show on the 14 of may, and go back on the 22 of may, i will probably go an other time this year, aug or so, cheers marcel

Sorry to hear that.

As above, I understood it was supposed to be tariff free below a certain value but have also found issues sending gifts to family in France and friends in Italy.

I do believe that a lot of this stems from EU determination to punish the UK in order to discourage other nations from leaving. Personally though, it just discourages me from buying European goods.

They changed the tariff for import-tax not long ago. Now you have to pay tax on the full sum and postage. Plus there is the handling fee for charging / collecting the tax.

They keep telling you how its good they finally got Brexit done then punish you because the government itself didn't really want to leave and want to now remind you of that with every purchase.

The punishing is from the EU not the UK.

The import duties everyone is being hit with here is the UK government surely?

No. It is the EU applying duties on import.

Well the UK applies duty/tax on import as well. As said within EU there is no such thing. Who stepped out of EU? UK or EU?

The EU leadership were warned by David Cameron in 2013 that reform was required as the Status Quo was unacceptable to a significant proportion of the UK population. The unelected quango from Brussels chose to ignore that warning and dismiss it as a bluff. What we have now is not good for either party, but is the outcome of that atypical EU intransigence

It is a joke ... ordered few screws on the 13th, paid tax on the 21st, still waiting for the parcel. Luckily the sun comes up everyday without the help of us humans otherwise we would be sitting in the dark 😡

We used to have a state premier, renown for being one of the most corrupt the country had ever had seen (now since surpassed many times over) and he refused to allow daylight savings in his state where every other state in the country adopted it creating chaos when you crossed one state into another. It was said that it was all because he thought the sun shone out of his arse and he wasn't getting out of bed and bend over an hour earlier for anyone!
