Hi all, some restoration photos, all under coat completed and in the new blue underneath and inside everywhere. The full re spray should be done in 2 weeks

Those TCA's don't look like Mk1/2 items. Neither do the struts.

Trouble is @Minilitemanthis has smashed the ceiling price and the buyer won't get it back drive it or not.

The upside for us all is prices and values will go up, the downside is that the Ford Tax on parts will do to 🤔.

Is it a 👍 or 👎?

That’s an interesting point Mark. The parts are heading the same way as the cars. Some bar stewards are charging circa 5 grand for an interior.

Nostalgia is a powerful motivation especially as you get older and the tech world seems to be so dehumanizing and consuming the world with poor quality goods and service. I have even bought cereal box toys cause they reminded me of my youth. Truth is that he wont loose money from it devaluing or anything. I am thankful the lack of enthusiasm for change made me hang onto my cars although I did have a three month affair with a Mini Clubman before resurrecting RP2000 from the rust jaws of death.

Totally get that RP regarding your youth and buying stuff. I’ve just bought this and a 1970’s Pifco Torch my dad used to have. No wonder I live on my own🤣

Hi all,

my first post, new to the website.

I have had two Ford escort RS 2000 both mk 2’s in the last 3 years. Droop snoop and flat front. Both sold recently

i found it quite easy to gauge a price for these, when I bought and when I sold 30k average £35k good and £40k very good etc.

But I find it very difficult to price up a mk 1 RS 2000 because there are hardly any for sale. I know there will be a big difference in prices depending on how good the car is and how much paperwork there is but for a quite good mk 1 RS2000 (I am looking for one used so showing some paintwork scars etc. and not a garage queen)

what is the ballpark cost for one?

Are they more expensive than mk 2 due to being more rare?

Welcome mate, nice motor. Looking forward to the build.👌

I absolutely concur Mark, she might have fell to bits though, depending on RPM🤣 Oscar Goldman wouldn’t be too please. I have them all on DVD. 😎

I have the DVD Series! We used to run around in slow motion as kids. (We couldnt really run fast so that made it better somehow!)

I haven't seen Lindsay Wagners series though on DVD I may have to search a bit harder for that one.

I used to work for the company that makes the machines to make chips, not the things you can eat but microchips. Many many years ago we had the first prototype of a new machine in the factory with a very high tech Zeiss lens. New employee had the task to change something inside the machine but he had to unmount the expensive Zeiss lens. He made a mistake and damaged the lens .... after that he was known as the 6 million dollar man ....
