Without any warning or signs the Drivers door rubber on the Focus just simply disintegrated into at least 8 pieces! Can you buy these things like you do Escort rubbers? I cant find anything locally. Are the drivers doors on Sedans and Hatches the same? Thanks!

Hi James, there seems to be a few suppliers over here. What model and year is it?

There was an issue with door-rubbers letting go, and Ford published a TSB for that I believe.

Letting go is an understatement. I have never seen anything like it, one day it was all fine without any perishing then next day there are all these chunks out of it and a huge split running up most of the side. Its like it had come creatures eggs in it and it burst open when they hatched! Normally you get a slight tear or perishing first but there was nothing like that. I know because i just ran some rubber protectant around it the week before. You dont think the protectant destroyed it? Hmmmm🤔

I have a Mk3 Focus and all of the door seals have required re-adhering back into their locations, I frequently see Focuses with door seals hanging out from under the doors.

Can't believe a company as big as Ford couldn't have come up with a decent solution at the design stage.

May be worth contacting this company James. They show a front door seal so they probably do the rear too.

You can change the price right at the bottom, James. Its £32.98 for us which they conver to $55.

It does say they ship to Aus. https://genuinemotors.co.uk/policies/shipping-policy but its £39.

Did you want the rear doors too?.

You may want to send them an email perhaps.

The strip in that link are universal rubber weatherstrips just like the ones you can get for the Mk2 (per meter). In the Ford TSB for the Focus doorrubbers there is a special adhesive mentioned (with Ford finiscode) but people over here use Loctite 406.

I was only looking for the front drivers door. I may have to check the others just in case they suddenly let go too but I think its just the drivers
