I've been offered a rebuilt.cosworth engine, proper gearbox and full wiring loom for £10k, is this a good price ? Thinking of getting it for my Mk2 Escort

I guess it depends on what route you want to go and what else would ALSO need changing to handle the power of a YB and make it work......, new prop, uprated rear diff/axle, brakes, ECU, throttle bodies or carbs, exhaust etc etc...............

Wouldn't just be £10k and Bob's your uncle, chuck another couple of grand or so on all the other bits.

What are you running at the moment in it?

Price up what else is needed before making a decision I reckon

I have two escorts. One with a hot 2.2 Pinto and some simple brake and suspension twesks, the other with an all singing and dancing 350bhp YB turbo and all the other bits updated an d upgraded to make it handle and stop better.

The one I get more fun out of and prefer to Drive?

The RS with the 2.2 Pinto.

To build an Escort with a YB turbo with all the other recommended upgrades necessary to get the most out of the available power is a pretty expensive business.

I wouldn't bother personally. That's a huge outlay for the sort of gain that you could probably get close to more cost effectively
