Hi all. Been away from the Ford scene for a while due to various reasons. On the brink of buying a modded 105 so thought i’d pop back and see who’s still around and what’s changed.  Bet everyone  I knew has moved on!

Hi Kev. It’s fairly high spec but highlights are-

1961 105 with turbo’d st170 with fully forged wossener pistons and rods
(353bhp at the wheels and 296 lbft torque)

T5 cosworth gearbox with paddle clutch

Haltec elite 1500+ ECU

Haltec lc7 digital dash

Shortened rear axle to fit 13x8 wheels

Disc conversion all round with willwood calipers

Linked rear axle with gaz gold shocks

18spline half shafts & 3.9 LSD181f2b03691590905ae0e119f2a170da.jpg

Hello Mike, welcome back.
Good to hear you haven't lost the bug completely.

Hi Scott. Hope you’re well- Nice to see someone from when i was here before. Still got the van? I Had to step away for a bit but having a space in the garage has dragged me back!

The car with this setup and color almost looks like that Cosworth Anglia from John(?) Tebenham back in the days, wich had about 350 bhp.

It was in a magazine called "maxpower"

What kind of rear axle is used? If this is the lttle Escort englisch or German rearaxle, i doubt they can't handle over 180 HP and 200 LB torque

Or am i wrong?

it’s a shortened english casing (to fit 8” wheels) with quaife 18 spline 2 piece half shafts and quaife 3.9 LSD. Cosworth T5 gearbox and paddle clutch. 5 linked with Gaz gold coilovers. Seems to go quite well. e02d78b0f0eca63fba580e5ea013692f.jpg

So as you wrote, it then would handle my 175 cu" Esslinger Ford with no worries. I knew about the so called "baby Atlas" Ford Capri rearaxle.

Or maybe a type of Volvo 240 ( or 244 ) wich is strong. Kind of like a Dana 44. Question is, what sort of investment to be needed.

Anyway, if this lil' English axle holds up to that , with of course in lightweight car, i am impressed.

Looking at the photo and reading the description of the rear axle on the Anglia it is a well-modified axle. On a std English axle the things that breaks when you have too much bhp and/or do burn-outs are the half shafts.
