  1. LOL. I got a diesel Transit van battery in my Capri - largest one that'd fit on the tray. You can turn that over until the starter motor burns out and it'll still have a load of charge left.
  2. I'll be running mine for a laugh at CF. Standard 2L engine, 38DGAS, K&N, 4 branch into stainless system. 3.77:1 diff. I seriously expect to post a time that'll be obliterated by a MK1 Mondeo 1.8LX. But I don't care cos it'll be fun making a prat of myself. Would be nice to break 20 seconds though.
  3. Capper is up and running OK but I'm hoofing it up to Falkirk on saturday to pick up a Recaro interior which I'm gonna try and get fitted by the day. If not, it might end up being a mix'n'match Laser/Recaro hybrid.
  4. That dash looks class with those four gauges in.
  5. Pretty much everything that applies to Scrotes applies to the Capri as well except you've more room.
  6. Sort out the bodywork. No point having 150BHP if half the wings are gonna blow off the first time you hit 100MPH.
  7. That green one will still fetch £1000 on Fleabay...
  8. Advised 500 miles on the engine I got from Specialised Engines. Thankfully the trip home from their place was 300 miles so that and a bit of running around for a couple of days took care of it.
  9. There's your problem then. Single choke carbs are only good for one thing..well two actually: Ford Transits and P100 Pickups. Get a Weber 32/36 DGAV shoved on it. DO NOT put a K&N filter on it until you've enough money to take it to a rolling road to get the carburettor rejetted as it'll run lean until you do and not be a whole lot better. Also get a 4-2-1 manifold as well which will improve midrange torque compared to a 4-1. In short it needs another £100 or so chucking at it until you can afford to buy a K&N and get it set up.
  10. What is it, a 2L? Try advancing the timing. I'm running mine at 16 degrees BTDC. Also what carb are you using?
  11. I'll be there.
  12. £150 including parts or not? You've got to take the head off but it's a 2 hour job at best. Cam kit, headgasket set, 2L of antifreeze, cambelt and I'd do oil & filter as well. Don't try and skimp on it by just fitting a camshaft. Get the full kit with new followers and oil spray bar.
  13. When are they getting sent out?
  14. Yeah..if you take the one I have on the NS, put it on the OS of yours and move it back a bit is more what I was getting at - it's only a case of lengthening the stripes on the long side.
  15. Yeah...moving the logo isn't a problem - ( basically you just put it on the other side ) and she can do pretty much any colour you can get vinyl in. White Black Red Yellow Orange Ocre Light/Dark Green Light/Dark blue Burgundy Gold Silver Lilac Purple Pastel Pink Dayglo like pink (loud) Light/Dark/Graphite grey Brown
  16. 55 Chevy Bel Air... Only that and a 57 that would tempt me away from the Capper.
  17. Well it was like this... I did it but I put it on the inner wing of my car as I was just adjusting the sidedraughts. Got it a bit wrong and they spat back and set my homework alight.
  18. Here's mine. Missus made them up. She says £40 a pair. If you want any other text in the style mine is in, its £45 a pair as she has to do it by hand but other text in a standard font would be free to do and she would email you with a layout showing what it would look like before you committed. Most colours available. PLEASE NOTE it does't include the site address bit. [/img]
  19. I take it they work by you pressing pedal to get brakes on then turning on line lock which keeps the pressure in the pipe to the calipers? Just so I can work out where to put mine...
  20. Looking at the rear inner wheel arch, if you can see that much missing from a random photo, there's not gonna be much floor left. Saying that though, it looks complete so maybe worth having as a donor for all those pingfuckit bits that invariably get lost.
  21. So it'll be on the back of a trailer at CF as "abandoned project" then? 3 week.
  22. Simple... Take him to CF show on 1st June. There'll be plenty of tin going down there including that fooking mental "Power not Paint" MK3 Tina hopefully.
  23. See? Owning an Essie does make you stupid.. Look up and you see the bit which says Album at the top of the page just below the CF banner ad? Click on it then you'll see a list of different models. Click on the one which says Capri....
  24. Yeah..that's it. Once they're welded in place and the wings are on, run a bit of seam sealant down the joint.
  25. Express Panels stock em but they're not cheap.
