Can anyone give me a rational explanation of this?

Basically the other morning I woke up in my new house and went downstairs did a quick tidy up from the night before and noticed there was this wierd slimy goo all over the sides of the Playstation 2, on further inspection of the room i found it on my mates hat on the other side of the room. when i touched it it kind of dissapeared as in just went really easy when i touched it so i got rid of it all and wiped it off toms hat. The next day when i went downstairs the playstation was exactly the same, covered in this transparent gooey stuff! We took some pics and wiped it off again. I found a small trail of it on the floor underneath the cabinet the PS2 was on thinking that it may be some form of slug getting in we put a line of salt around the cabinet and aropund the PS2. The next morning it was worse than ever!!!!!

Now we've tried rationally explaining it but i cant stop remembering that the night before the day it started me and my mate (who i live with) were really pissed and went for a pissed wander arounf the massive cemetry at the end of our road with a few cans.. have we upset a ghost or is there a rational answer??!!!!!

it IS snails m8.

used to have them in my old house. it doesn't matter where they come from, tey're gonna be there  .

it actually happened cos the floor wasn't sealed properly. it was just dirt underneath and slugs can squeeze down pretty small.

i wouldn't worry too much, and if you set up a camera, even in FFWD its gona be slow

Well the thing is it doesnt look anything like slug or snail goo! we've tried to convince ourselves it is but when we see it every morning it just so isnt!! its hard to explain what it looks like, kind of like that stuff they use to stick free gifts to magazines but not as thick or sticky and it hasnt got that shimmery look that slug stuff has its more of a uniform 'sheen'. Ive got some digital photos but not on the comp yet. Gonna go to the media department and hire a camera its a good idea! also on the macs ill be able to put it on an obscenely fast fast forward to try to explain these sticky shenanigans!!

me dad used to have problems with slugs at his alotment.

He came up with a cunning plan to rid the snails from his lettuces.

One night just before he locked up he placed a slice of mars bar (other chocolate fancies are available) on the end of a short twig, then proped the twig at a 37 degree angle.

Sure enough the slug came along and noticed the chocolate treat on the end of the twig, The slug then climbed the twig and feasted on the tasty delight then disapeared into the night.

My dad then replaced the slice of mars bar for the next 6 nights and each night the slug fed his slimy face.

On the 8th night however my dad replaced the mars bar for a stanley knife blade, When the slug appeared that nigh he instantly climbed the twig and upon reaching the summet relized there was now chocolate and looked around to see where it might be thus slicing it's greasy throat on the blade.

Word soon spread throughout slug land and my dad was never botherd by slugs again
