Hilux Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 i really hope you get it back doc, don't give up, if say fifty people all turned up at once with you and demanded it back, as you say pay the man for the good work (if any) and if all else fails and it was my car that was refused to be handed back and the legal route was exhausted, then fook it if i cant have it then he wouldn't be having it either, i'd end up torching it just to piss him off. but hopefully it wont come to that. chin up ol' boy

negri Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 just read the story and what a tinker lol the guy is being . how busy is his place ? have you thought of going out side his work with a big sandwich board strapped to you with all the facts written on it ? it might sound silly but if he has loads of customers coming in and out he wont be too happy with the bad publicity . i saw this happen at a big motor dealers . they had been in disagreement with a customer for a few weeks and as soon as he was in the street with the sandwich board the matter was wrapped up in minutes . failing that threaten to drive a fork lift through his shop front . lol seen this work on more than one occasion

Ring Trading Standards, they are the defenders of us, the punters. Seriously they're like terriers once they get wind of a dodgy dealer! If this doesn't work, threaten legal.. Remember if he is truely in the wrong then most of your legal expenses will fall to him! If all else fails.. You'll have to destroy the cars. As someone else said if you can't get it back he wont be getting it either. Also, link to this page from every classic car enthusiast's forum.. Especially all the Scottish ones! Not just Ford ones either!

You and a load of mates drive up there in a convoy stylee, and when you get there, all park bumper to bumper outside his premises !!! No one gets in + no one gets out. A nice peace protest, no violence required ! Whats he gonna do ? call the police ? Then he can explain to them why he is illegally with holding your property. You have already paid him for the shoddy work he has aready carried out. if you take cash with you and the police are called you can show them the cash and say this is what he wants to allow you to take your cars away, they will probably speak to him, get him to confirm this. You can complete the transaction while their there, collect your cars and be on your way. the police will probably hang around to make sure you clear the road too. no grief involved Mate if that doesnt get you cars back i'll eat my pc !!!

I do not wish anyone hurt or condone aggresion or violence . I dont wish ill on anyone . Im glad no one was hurt in the slight crash and no one else should either . This is a disagreement over a bad job bieng carried out on my car . Its unpleasant but at the and of the day Its just a piece of metal. One way or the other itll get sorted. I dont condone the breaking of any law or would i consider taking such action. Thanks for the support and there have been some avenues discussed that ill take up . Doc.

capritech Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 I work at a ford dealer's and the customer has to sign the job card where there is some text saying we only do the work they have agreed to have done and anything else we will tell them about! But we had a pikey in who signed with a x and when he came to collect his transit and got the bill he said he was not paying!! He said he could not read or write so could not read the text or sign for the work to be done! He got givin his keys as you cannot KEEP HIS VAN AS THAT IS THEFT!! the money owed has to be sorted out in court!
