to a hire car?

Whilst out watching the Race of Champions in Gran Canaria about ten years ago, we drove back to Puerto Rico from the venue without using the brakes. It was about an hours drive including some motorway work. The synchro on first gear ws a little baggy upon arrival back at the resort, especially when we pulled in for petrol off the motorway at the last minute, needless to say that little clio got use to hitting the rev limiter on that tour.

I love rental cars cos they are the fastest cars in the world :twisted:

Me dad had a sierra 2.0 ghia years ago with a fooked diff, noisy, he hired another and swapped diffs.

got shafted up the arse in one of my old demos, took £100 off the bloke and told work it happened in a car park, no idea who did it.

im more honest these days though.

When I did my engineering apprenticeship in Portsmouth, the people that lived up there used to hire cars to get home for the weekend in Scotland, mostly because the bangers we owned ourselves would never make the journey. I remember one guy running out of money for petrol on the journey up so he cracked the sump nut loose on the hire car, the oil dripped out slowly and when the engine gave up he was recovered the rest of the way. The icing on the cake was when he got a replacement hire car to get back down in, that had another full tank of fuel!

I had a courtesy car when my Capri got hit up the arse. It was a nasty Micra. Things kept dropping off it like the external door handles and plasticy bits inside. I kept showing people how crap it was until I really couldn't put the plasticy bits back because I'd broken them :lol::lol: Blatted it everywhere and everyone does this tried to see how loud the speakers were until I blew one.....oooops.

Stupid garage gave me a Corsa the next time I had to take the car back. It was worse that time because they pulled the interior of my Capri apart so I pretty much did the same with the Corsa too

I had a newfangled Astra when my old one blew up. Had one of those optional sport buttons that was itching to be tested

Had a great time on the ringroad around Basingstoke  no need to worry about speed cams cos it was 'unoficcially' leased to me

Couldnt get the thing to break though cant have tried hard enough....

When my old Corrado was in the garage being fixed after being vandalised I had a Nissan Micra one litre.

I managed 106mph in it (on a private test track of course). Top speed is quoted at 93.
