Nice Mike  What size TB's are they? would you get more power if you fitted bigger one's like carbs?

They're 45s. I don't know if you bolted some 48s on would give great increases. The next step would be to do some head work and fit different cams if I were to go down that route.

Now BUTT OUT of my thread because I don't want to listen to your 'blah-blah-pinto-power-is-great' anymore.

Thank you.

 I don't remember talking about pintos on this thread mate  . Anyway i want to talk about your 150 bhp full management , throttle bodied , tony law exhausted cheap zetec install that makes an anglia drive so much better than any other engine as i'm very interested in this

Better than any other engine? Did I say that? I said 'better than it was before'. I've never said a zetec is better than any other engine. Just that in my opinion it's the best engine for the application I want to use it for.

Ok, you might not have mentioned Pintos, but the words 'pintos are great' and 'mk1gaz' go together like bacon and eggs.

sounds good mike i think ill be happy when i get the zetec in mine if its producing power like that

The 115 I have in mine (may be a little more with all the emissions gear off and a better exhaust setup) is enough fun 150 must be great in a lightweight well balanced car.

Gotcha - i don't know much about zetecs is there a healthy amount of power to come from head and cam work? I dunno why but i assumed you had 40's on there.

I bet it drives nice tho with that low down power  does your megasquirt sort the sparks too?

I've taken this from www.ZetecInside.com

Heads and cams

Like many four-valve modern heads, the alloy Zetec unit is pretty good straight out of the box. It has good tumble which allows it to produce a healthy torque curve but that is not to say that gains can't be made. Careful porting can provide worthwhile flow improvements and there's room for bigger valves if you're after more than 200bhp. A standard head (on a 2.0) with side draughts or throttle bodies plus mapped ignition will make between 160-170bhp. Port the head and add some 285° cams for 200bhp. With big valves and careful gas flowing you can squeeze 220bhp. You'll need vernier cam pulleys to get the best out of even standard cams.

Yes, the megasquirt does the spark too.

Gaz lol you are a proper wind up!

I recon some of the best money you can spend is having your car dynoed and I guess you'd agree Mr ZetecVan :thumbsup:

Nice 1!!!

Ive got to admit I am quite impressed with how quick a standard 2.0L zetec is as my mate has got one in a Mk2 Escy and it goes really well! Couldnt believe he did a 13.6 sec pass at pod aswell with an unlightened car!!! :ykt:

Any more info on this one please James  . Do you mean unlightened as in steel panels , glass windows , full interior , street rubber , exhaust system etc etc or unlightened on slicks with no exhaust and all the interior missing ? :?

Ok ok, it had no exhaust, on slicks with just a drivers seat but still with full glass and steel bodywork!!! Dont know anyone anywhere near this with a standard zetec tho!!! Would still woop a low 14 easy!!!

I kept putting it off. Now I wished I'd have done it when I got the van on the road 18 months ago!

Well done Mike. I bet you must love driving the van, even more so now.

Fantastic result Mike.

One thing is for sure, that a standard Zetec is better than a standard Pinto, or for that matter better than some tuned ones.
