Dom Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 Right now I know the consensus regarding wheels on OSF's is generally 13" 4 spokes etc etc or maybe 15's max. I've been offered a set of these with tyres for 80 quid http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/17-TSW-APEX-ALLOY ... dZViewItem They're for my rather in your face bright red mk3 capri
Burns Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 it's your choice in the end dude i must say, i don't think they'd look great on a capper
Toby Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 WTF! Not on your Nelly!! Em I mean - not for me.
Admin Vista Posted November 7, 2007 Admin Report Posted November 7, 2007 As it happens I do think some 17" alloys can look good on a classic Ford, but you need to make your choice very wisely and I'm not convinced these are the way to go.
sambo Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 Man, those wheels will look cheap and horrible on your car!! Dont do it!! Big wheels can look awesome on an osf but you have to get the right ones!! They will just show off your drums and make your brakes look small (if you have original brakes). Not to mention, make the car look ridiculously high. Sorry man, but thats my thoughts!.
davidglanza Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 whack them on i think they will look mental..............
hotrodholty Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 stick em on, be different mate. im bored of seeing everything on 13" wheels with tiny tyres, so called south london look. if it dont look right you can flog em. its your car do what ye want? i always thought having cars like ours was about being individual and having something different to everyone else, not building your car to match everyone elses tastes and preferences. bit of a rant but a valid point.
bigglesmk2 Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 New skool wheels on an old skool car rarely works, but hey its personal pref dude

Is that your escort? What size wheels are they? Ok look for something different but to just pick something different to be different surely could end in disaster looks!! If the price is right and your current tyres are bald, fair enough (and you're skint), If you like them fair enough, but if you don't like them - and this is possibly why you're asking - leave em! And save up for something else - possibly different!

Lukey Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 I knew these pics would come in handy. Sorry to take the P*ss
Muttley MK2 Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 them wheels are pug citroen fitment, although pcd is the same as capri the et is 15 so you would need x pack arches to cover them!
FlashCadillac Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 im not voting.... i dont agree with any of them i dont think you should put factory ford wheels on it... its just a bit common for my liking... but i dont think those weels will look quite right sent it to the photoshop room... i just think they are a bit thin and curvey them spokes
Ade B Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 They are well rank When going modern and non-OE I think they have to be either deep dish, motorpsport rims or at least just dark coloured. Random flat faced tall skinny bling stuff on a OSF makes me wanna puke In my humble opinion
FlashCadillac Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 They are well rank subtle.... real subtle
antz Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 They are well rank subtle.... real subtle cant fault him for his honesty though

surfingturnip Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 personally I dont think those particular wheels would'nt suit the capper, but find the right ones and it would look awesome
Toby Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Vista. Just been looking at Puddys big wheels (red Mk2 Cortina with 'icle cossy number going on) . 17's I think. Cos its in the weeds it seems to work IMO.
Dom Posted November 8, 2007 Author Report Posted November 8, 2007 I'm not a massive fan of them multi million spoke wheels, they make my eyes go funny prefer the more simple designs. them wheels are pug citroen fitment, although pcd is the same as capri the et is 15 so you would need x pack arches to cover them! Surely I would need big spacers to fill the arches then? Pretty sure the ones I've got are RWD offset anyway. I'll whack em on, might take a picture or two and then we'll go from there

I'll whack em on, might take a picture or two and then we'll go from there Capri offset is ET5 (although laser 4 spokes were ET19, making them look way too skinny). So to make ET15 wheels sit well you'll need 10mm spacers. Also Pug wheels will have a bigger centre bore meaning you'll need spiggot rings or hubcentric spacers if you want the wheels to be located by more than just the wheel nuts.

jay Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 i likes big wheels on some osf's.. if you like it mate, do it...................
