just bought a mk1 escort left hand drive ,it has heavy duty top plates which look factory a bonnet that has a big big power bulge in it that again looks stock and a v6 engine ,its also very rusty all over but has a full lenght sunroof ,a formula steering wheel that looks like a springalex but on the logbook its down as a CRAYFORD v6 escort ,its also a 1969, any ideas i thought crayford done convertibles

Crayford also did engine conversions, as did a few others (Superspeed also springs to mind as a creator of V6 mk1 escorts, oh and the Jeff Uren created Apache Escort) sounds like you might have quite a rare motor there.

it is beyond repair thought it had not moved in 30 years my mate bought an rs1600 mk 3 escort of him and he had a pair of quarter bumpers on hes staircase so i asked him if he had any more spares he said come into my back garden you might be able to get some from this

Nothing is beyond repair, it's just a question of time skill and (mainly) wallet size

The Apache was a Jeff Uren (of savage cortina fame) V6 escort. The crayford V6 escort project name was Eliminator (apparently)
