Craigs car is over 200Kgs heavier than a standard Mk2 escort at 1160Kg ... so get your standard road car and add 200kgs and see if it can get into the sub 1 minute Gaz.. its all talk.. you ask for times and then slate it when its up ... Gaz i do hope your ligher than Craigs car or PeterM's car is under a minute round brands .. and Peters only got a 8 Valve in it ... I mean ..whats an interior weigh... 50kg .. one front seat, one back seat and some door cards.. the only one saying *whinging voice on * its not a road car its a stripped out lighweight car " is you.. and yet we dont know a time for your car ... or a weight .. apparently it was a 250 atmo screamer .. its not apparently its going to run 13's it hasnt apparently my opinion dont count as i dont drive an OSF .. apparently facts dont matter either ..

I dont get it, someone will say "that car is fast" and you will just come back and say "Well, yeah, once it comes off the trailer, or "but it has no interior" etc, etc. Well, it IS a bloody race car!! From what you say, every car must have 175/50 street rubber and full interior! other wise it doesnt count as being a fast car! Whats that all about???!!! Just accept that not every car is on the same old 175/50 tyres and if a car is built for the track and is a full blown race car, then it's gonna piss on your skinny tyred sarrrf London mk1 anyday round a circuit. Is your car the perfect mk1?? Is it the best on the strip? if it isnt, you will just say that "well i DO have the full interior, if i wanted to go faster, i would strip it out" Is your car the best on the circuit? Errrr....no. So, that leaves the street then. Well, personally, if i so much as touched the throttle half way down in my old escort, the old bill will be breathing down my neck in no time. Street cars.... cant be arsed with it. And anyway, as per turbo vs N/A.... yours (and mine) are good on little streets etc but on a road more than 400 yards long, we would lose to a big BHP turbo cossie. Sorry for the rant and personal attack mate, but i just dont get what your point is??? ..... EVER!!! you just have excuses after excuses!

As for Retromotorsport harping on about all those trailer queen circuit race cars and trying to compare them to all our proper street cars , that really makes me laugh the most !!!!!!!!!! . Go have a look at the photos from this weekends autosport show (in the event report section) and then tell me that craig rainers escort is almost a road car and that it's windows are still glass then !!!!!!!!!

Well my cars only got 262 bhp on one dyno and got 212bhp at Torque of the Devil so all your precious featherweight circuit race car mates SHOULD be able to keep up with it in a race then . It WILL run low 13's WITHOUT resorting to leaving half the car at home and i'll do it on 175mm wide proper normal cheap tyres . So if i weighed all my nice comfy interior bits , weigh all my steel panels and glass , weigh all my M.O.T. equipment (yes mine can go on roads as well ) and add that lot onto your mates featherweight lapping toys (that haven't got any of that stuff) and then we'll see if they can keep up then
kevmk2 Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 They are perspex or polycarb windows in Craigs car, but like i have said before, i put them in my car when it was pinto'd along with a fibreglass bootlid and saved around 30 kilo's, it made no differance to the quarter mile time what soever, even the terminal was the same. Gone back to glass now, so that i can see out of the side windows properly without looking at all those swirl and scratch marks Im even thinking of putting bonnet hinges back on mine so i can have a bonnet that can stay up without having to take it off all the time. You just dont need an escort that light really,they start to look and feel horrible when you go too far i think. Look at Terrys car,yeah its got no carpet or door panels,but what do they weigh? fook all. He has metal bootlid and metal bonnet and does a 10 dead @ 146mph,enough said

So when people stop comparing mine to fooooooking track cars on trailers then i'll be ok with that . If they can't do that then they can give up their slicks and weigh saving measures (fit street rubber and add ballast then) and then race me or shut the fooooooooook up for good !!!!!!!!!!

I've got no problem with featherweight circuit trailer queens so JUST STOP COMPARING THEM TO MINE all the fooooooking time then
