I drove over to my dads this aft in the van, and the traffic was shite. I couldn't get my foot down, and was stuck in second gear for half the journey. Because I was going so slow I seemed to notice more people looking at the van. People at bus stops pointing and watching as I passed. For the first mile there was a transit behind me. He was turning right at some lights, and as he changed lanes and passed me, the passenger was hanging out the window with his camera phone taking pics. Then when I was near my dads, two lads ran down the road to get in front of me to take pictures on their phone too.

Made my day it did.

I hope you obliged with a big blip on the throttle Mike to let them know you had something under the bonnet....

I had the asian fella at the local garage telling me I shouldnt be putting super unleaded in that old car as it will cause damage to the valves etc.

I smiled and said... dont think that will be a problem... and left..... sideways

Like someone said, bikers seem to respect proper cars more than most people, they were allways giving me the thumbs up or waving, the attention can be a twat sometimes though, I've been pulled twice by the coppers who blatently just wanted to have a nosey, they couldn't even be arsed lieing and making up a reason for stopping me

Driving around Glasgeeee yesterday, everone stares! It's fooking ace. Gotta say, the Prefect gets a lot more attention than the Capper ever did.

It'll get even more when the front wheels are lit up!

Yeah, my girlfriend always tells me how everyone stares but you forget after a while. She finds it embarassing or annoying but I love it, just cruising and seeing people check out my motor, or having people ask after it. When I pick her up from the shopping centre she works at crowds gather around it, my streets nect up from a holiday camp and my neighbour told me a group of tourists came up the road to take photos of my car while I was at work.
