razersedge Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 but it is not just the price of the car is it, just read it carefully there is a person that comes with it and he can do freaky stuff stunning as new tarmac gp4 rally car. gartrac supplied parts. new rs2000 16v all steel engine dry sumped with engine management, tony law exhaust, new 6 speed sequential, narrow floating axle, 310mm front brakes, alloy hubs, gp4 studs, latest gartrac tarmac suspension, watts linkage, tension struts, new coil over bilsteins, new electric power steering, multi point cage, peltor intercom, electic fire eater, sparco seats, stack dash, new belts, tax free, etc etc... Must be the best prepared car in the country. i think the price is a bit heavy but someone who ralliys might not think so because that is who it's ment for
Seldon Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Now that is one top notch after market addition
X FLOW EDDY Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 50 grand WTF Its got a bolt in cage for flaps sake !! You would at lest expect a half decent weld in for that money.
Admin Vista Posted August 3, 2008 Admin Report Posted August 3, 2008 I'm not certain it's the same car but it sounds very much like one that's just up the road from me. It's stunning and there is a huge amount of money invested in it. If you want it for what it's built for i.e. rally winning potential then I suspect it's worth every penny, but if you're after a cool looking escort to rag about the streets in then you'll get what you want for much less. 50 grand WTF Its got a bolt in cage for flaps sake !! You would at lest expect a half decent weld in for that money. Are we reading the same add? I don't see anywhere it says the cage is bolt in.
X FLOW EDDY Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Look at the pics in the ad, The rear stays are bolted on for sure. No disrespect to the pirson/pirsons who bult it but for 50 large i would want more than a £450 safety devices 6 point cage fitted.

countrybumpkin Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 thats a lot of money to spend in one go but i bet if most of use worked out exactly how much we have spent on our cars it would probably come scarly close to that price
Rick Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 if it had won countless rallies it may be worth that... but i dont read anywhere that it has
PIG Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 cant do historics in it either only clubman rallying as it has long link boxes, fookin dear with that old engine in it as well
Admin Vista Posted August 3, 2008 Admin Report Posted August 3, 2008 Can't see any pics with the ad, just the text
livewire7116 Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 I know this car very well and the owner, it was built with no expense spared or compromise, this is prob one of the best mk1s ive seen in a long time, not for the faint hearted tho

Owner also has a silver 3 series coupe and lives just the right side of the bridge?
X-pack-Glyn Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 A true classic example of forgetting where the fook we came from... if it gets much worse il be forgetting fords and downgrading to ferarri's, what a total King joke...

DarrenM Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Very nice car but non historic legal (as has been said) would hurt its sale potential. Not in it's '68 shell any more either.
sambo Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 How much power is the engine producing? Definatley a strange choice of lump too? you often see rally mk1 or mk2's selling for around that money but they usually have a N/A cossie or millington engine in them etc. i reckon the price is a tad strong though.
