Ive got an XE powered Chevette, which me and my old man built last year. Its tonnes of fun, and cost a lot less to do than an Escort would have.

 

Plus, as the car itself only cost me £120 im not that fussed about throwing it at the scenery. Dont think you could say that about an Escort!

 

Its not as good looking as a mk1 Escort tho.

There are still good deals to be found on mk1 escorts it just takes ALOT of searching i got mine for under 5k ok it shows but she has tax test and is solid, just a tad un tidy.
